The strikes have already caused delays for upcoming projects, and while the WGA reached a deal back in September, SAG-AFTRA is still attempting to reach a deal with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP), meaning that actors have been unable to return to work since the summer. As a result, Disney just announced that the release dates of two films have been delayed by at least a year.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Disney recently announced that the release of their live-action Snow White film has been moved from March 22nd, 2024 to March 21st, 2025.

Additionally, Pixar’s new animated film Elio is being pushed from March 1st, 2024 to June 13th, 2025. These were two of the company’s big films for Spring 2024, so moving them really shakes things up for Disney.

The studios are fast approaching the deadline to decide what films need to be pushed back in the 2024 slate. The deadline is in the first week of November, if not November 1st. The newest Deadpool film has also been pushed to a later date due to the strike.
