The Major DOWNFALL of Disney World Hotels

Decisions, decisions… sometimes it’s hard to know if you’ve made the right one.

Chances are when you go to select your next “home away from home” when on vacation, you’ve probably compared “perks” between the hotel categories and how that can work best for you. You can compare everything from which way your hotel room faces and the view, to how close the hotel is to your favorite park, and even if you’ll be able to stay in the parks longer than regular day ticket visitors. However, even the most expensive hotel at Disney World won’t get you an exclusive perk we’ve seen nearby.

Sometimes choosing which hotel you want to stay in while on vacation can seem like a tedious task, especially when there are so many options available to you.

The hotel you choose will determine the types of transportation offered, nearby dining options, and even if your hotel pool has a slide. But, there’s one amenity you won’t find at any of the Disney World hotels.

You will find it nearby, though. If you venture to Universal Orlando, some of their highest-tiered hotels have a theme park perk that you can’t get at Disney World.

Universal’s version of bypassing the standby line — called Express Pass  — is included for all guests staying in select hotels and is available for the entire length of stay at no extra charge. In fact, you get the Unlimited Express Pass — which allows everyone in the room to use the express lines as many times as they want in the Universal parks. These passes start at $99 per person, per day, so it is perk with a lot of value!

This can certainly be a huge perk to compare when hotels at Disney World not only don’t offer this option at all for hotel guests, but even with the paid version of Genie+ and Individual Lightning Lanes, you’ll still need to pay for, reserve a time, and can only use each lightning lane once per day per person.

It’s worth noting though that there are plenty of differences in perks between Disney World and Universal Orlando hotels.
