Take a Look Inside the NEW Minion Land at Universal Orlando!

Calling all Minions fans, we’ve got some exciting news from Universal Orlando Resort!

We’ve been keeping our eye on the speedy progress of the new Minion Land coming to Universal Studios Florida. The land is set to feature tons of Minions offerings like themed food locations, character meet-and-greets, and a brand-new attraction! If you can’t wait to experience these Minion-themed spots for yourself, you’re in luck — some sections of Minion Land soft opened today, and we swung by to check them out!

Without further ado, let’s step inside the soft opening of Minion Land to explore all the new additions!

Of course, right at the top of Illumination Avenue, there’s Despicable Me: Minion Mayhem, the motion simulator dark ride that has been a staple of the park for years.

Even though Despicable Me: Minion Mayhem isn’t a new ride, it is currently the only one operating in Minion Land. The new attraction coming to the land, Illumination’s Villain-Con Minion Blast, isn’t open quite yet. But, we did notice that most of the construction walls are down around the Villain-Con building where the ride is housed!

If you’re ready to get up close and personal with the stars of the land themselves, Illumination Theater is home to a character meet-and-greet.

We spotted Minions there when we swung by, but other characters will meet here as well! We spoke with guests that spotted Johnny and Gunter from Sing there today while the Minions were gone (presumably out wreaking havoc somewhere, of course!).

If all that adventure has made you hungry, we’ve got just the place. The new Minion Cafe opened this morning too!

We also got a closer look at the other new spots in Minion Land. There’s the store called Bake My Day…

…and snack stand called Freeze Ray Pops! While neither of these two spots were open in the morning, we did notice some activity happening inside. In the afternoon, we saw that they were open for business!

We had to treat ourselves to a Minion popsicle, of course!

The popcorn stand called Pop-A-Nana is also open now serving banana popcorn!

And of course, a theme park land wouldn’t be complete without a place to shop! The Evil Stuff store is open for guests in search of Minions merch.
