Although COVID-19 is no longer considered a pandemic in the U.S., it is still affecting people all over the world.

Many mandates have been lifted by Disney — there is no mask requirement in the parks, the COVID-19 warnings have been removed from the website, and Disney Cruise Line just updated its testing requirement. But now, Disney’s TV shows are dropping vaccination requirements for those on and off screen.

On Friday, November 4th, the Walt Disney Company told several of its TV shows that there is no longer a vaccination requirement for cast or crew, according to The Los Angeles Times.

Last year, several unions and producers created the Return to Work agreement that allowed everyone to return to work safely following the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. This included wearing masks, constant testing, and the vaccination requirement.

It is possible that Disney will require vaccines for certain productions and SAG-AFTRA said that producers have always had to option to enforce these vaccination mandates. So far, about a dozen shows are impacted by this change, but masking and testing will still take place.
