Actor Announced to Play Hatbox Ghost in Disney’s ‘Haunted Mansion’ Movie

There are quite a few big Disney movies on the horizon.

We’ve got Marvel hits coming soon like Black Panther: Wakanda Forever and Pixar films like Elemental. However, Disney parks fans are getting hyped up for one big movie in particular…the Haunted Mansion movie!

The new live-action film will be based on the ride and will differ from the 2003 film adaptation of the same name (remember the one that starred Eddie Murphy?). We’d heard it confirmed earlier that Madame Leota would be portrayed by Jamie Lee Curtis, but now we’ve got another big casting announcement!

The part of the ride’s famous Hatbox Ghost will be played by Jared Leto, according to Entertainment Weekly. Leto joins a star-studded cast that includes Rosario Dawson, LaKeith Stanfield, Owen Wilson, Danny DeVito, and Tiffany Haddish. The movie will be directed by Justin Simien.

We can’t wait to get more details on this upcoming movie! It’s set to release in March 2023, so we’ve got a few months to wait, but you best believe we’ll be on the lookout for any more announcements that come soon.
