It can be a bummer when you show up to a park ready to hop on a ride you’ve been looking forward to just to find that it’s closed for refurbishment.
That’s why we make sure we bring you all of the latest theme park closure updates — we want you to be as prepared as possible on your next trip! And, if you’re headed to Universal Orlando’s Wizarding World of Harry Potter anytime soon, one upcoming closure could impact how you get between the two parks!
According to Universal Orlando’s calendar, the Hogwarts Express will be closed for refurbishment this summer from June 9th until June 18th, 2022.
This means that you’ll need to exit the parks at the main gates and walk through CityWalk to get to the other if you’re planning on visiting both Harry Potter-themed areas.
This refurbishment joins a few others you can expect in Universal Orlando this summer, including the popular roller coaster, Revenge of the Mummy. Of course, we’ll keep our eye out for any additional updates, so be sure to stay tuned to AllEars for the latest!

Do they change dates periodically? The Universal calendar now says that Hogwarts Ex is closed from 6/9-618. 😩 Which is not good for us. I switched my plans once already to the 17th due to being able to ride Hogwarts Ex 😢 Now the site says closed until 18th of June.
