PHOTOS: Disney Announces Its Own Version of 'Mario Kart'

If you love Mario Kart, we’ve got some amazing news.

Disney is about to step into the combat racing arena with its own version of Mario Kart with Disney and Pixar characters — that’s right, you’ll soon be able to race against your friends the Disney way.

The game will be called Disney Speedstorm. Here’s the game’s description: “Drift into the ultimate hero-based combat racing game, set on high-speed circuits inspired by Disney and Pixar worlds. Master each character’s unique skills on the racetrack and claim victory in this thrilling arcade racing experience from the creators of the Asphalt series!”

You’ll be able to choose from a variety of Disney and Pixar characters including Captain Jack Sparrow, Mulan, Mickey Mouse, the Beast, Sulley, and more. Each character will have unique skills and racing stats that can be upgraded to give each their own advantages during races. Each car can also be customized.

You can either choose to play solo or challenge friends — and others in multiplayer mode. Each racetrack is inspired by Disney and Pixar movie environments — for example, you can race along the docks of a Pirates of the Caribbean island, through the wilds of The Jungle Book, or on the Scare Floor of Monsters, Inc.

The game, which will be free-to-play, will be available on the Nintendo Switch in summer 2022, so get ready to race — you can pre-register for a chance to be among the first to try the new game on the official Disney Speedstorm website.
