Back in 2020, Disney announced plans for a Disney+ Beauty and the Beast prequel series, and despite recent casting news, it looks like we might not be able to watch this series anytime soon.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the untitled Beauty and the Beast prequel series has been officially delayed. The hold on production is reportedly due to cast scheduling conflicts, issues with creative elements, and bad weather.

This Disney+ series was described as an eight-episode musical series starring Josh Gad and Luke Evans reprising their roles of LeFou and Gaston, respectively. It would have been an origin story for the two characters, with the story set before Belle meets the Beast.
