VIDEO: Disney’s Newest Cruise Ship Is a Big Step Closer to Completion

This year will mark the very first voyage of Disney Cruise Line’s newest ship, the Disney Wish.

We’ve been keeping a close eye out for news about this amazing new trip and we’ve already shared tons of details about the itineraries, staterooms, dining, shows, and more! Now, we’ve got another behind-the-scenes peek at construction.

Today, Walt Disney Imagineering shared a new video with an update on Disney Wish progress! The ship is currently under construction at Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany and a big step is underway.

The ship’s propellers have been partially constructed and placed below the ship. Check out the process in this video!

This clip shows the installation of the azipods that will house the propellers under the ship. Disney notes that the final installation of the propellers is coming soon and that the completed apparatus will be a crucial component in guiding the cruise ship.

This is likely one of the few peeks we’ll get of this important piece of this ship. After all, once the Wish hits the water, the propellers will be out-of-sight — submerged and doing their job.
