Dorothy Steel, known for her role in Black Panther, has passed away at the age of 95.

Steel appeared in Black Panther as an elder of the Merchant Tribe of Wakanda.
A testament to pursing dreams at any age, Dorothy Steel launched her screen career at the age of 88. Her first Hollywood appearance was a guest-starring role in a 2015 episode of YouTube series, The Trouble with Going Somewhere.

In addition to her role in Black Panther, Steel’s other credits include a recurring role in Bounce TV’s Saints & Sinners, several holiday TV movies, and appearances in the films Poms, Daisy Winters, and Jumanji: The Next Level.
Steel’s agent announced that plans for a memorial will be released shortly.
