Universal Hollywood Will Require Guests to Be Vaccinated Or Have Recent Negative COVID Test

A lot has changed over the past year as U.S. theme parks have continued to update their health and safety guidelines in accordance with the CDC’s and local health officials’ guidance.

Universal Studios Hollywood

This summer, Universal Studios Hollywood began requiring masks indoors again after Los Angeles County health officials mandated masks at all indoor public locations. That mandate was eventually changed so that masks would be required outdoors at the theme park, too.

This week, Los Angeles County health officials set a mandate that would require guests and employees attending outdoor mega events (10,000 people or more) to show COVID-19 vaccination proof or a negative test. This includes theme parks. Starting November 4th, Los Angeles County will also require people to show proof of vaccination for many indoor spaces as well.

Per this new health order, beginning on October 7th, all Universal Studios Hollywood guests ages 12 and up must provide proof of a full FDA or WHO-approved COVID-19 vaccination (a full 14 days after the final dose) or a negative test taken within 72 hours of their visit to get into the theme park. Masks will still be required both indoors and outdoors.
