Baby Yoda Will Be in This Year's Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade

When Star Wars: The Mandalorian came out in 2019, everyone (including us) was immediately in love with the little Baby Yoda.

Since then, we’ve seen him around Disney World and just about everywhere else on all kinds of merchandise, like plushes, collectible keys, and Pandora charms, just to name a few examples. Grogu even spent some time in the sky when Disney used light-up drones to cast his picture above Los Angeles. But the world’s love for this little guy isn’t about to stop there.

According to StarWars.com, Funko, Macy’s, and Lucasfilm have been working on a new giant Baby Yoda balloon for the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade!

To celebrate everyone’s love for Grogu, there will be a huge balloon of the beloved baby floating above Manhattan at this year’s parade. The balloon measures 41 feet high, 29 feet long, and 37 feet wide — and if that’s not enough Baby Yoda for you, we don’t know what to tell ya.

The balloon is based on a Funko Pop! character of Baby Yoda, and creators at Funko and Lucasfilm have said that one of the biggest challenges with designing the balloon was getting Grogu’s giant ears right.

This will be the first ever Star Wars-themed balloon at a Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, even though the parade has been running for 94 years so far. But don’t worry, in the 95th year Star Wars is finally getting some love! You can tune in to watch Baby Yoda take over New York at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade on Thursday, November 25th from 9AM to 12PM in all time zones.
