‘Star Wars’ and Marvel Are This Year’s Most Popular Wedding Themes

It’s probably not surprising, considering what we do all day, but it turns out that we aren’t the only ones! A new study revealed what the most popular and in-demand wedding themes are right now, and the list may surprise you.

A recent study by engagement ring brand Taylor & Hart revealed that “Star Wars” and “Marvel” are now the two most in-demand themes for a wedding! The study analyzed data from Google search history over the last year and found a 90% increase in demand for information on Star Wars-themed weddings and an 86% increase in demand for those themed to Marvel.

Other theme searches that topped the list included (in this order): Game of Thrones, Lord of the Rings, Cowboy, Tropical, Football, Twilight, Country, and Nautical. It’s not surprising that Marvel and Star Wars are so popular, considering the fact that both franchises have produced several hit TV series in the past few months and both have more movies and shows on the horizon. On top of that, thanks to Avengers Campus and Galaxy’s Edge, both fandoms now have representation in the Disney theme parks.

But how do the results change on different websites? Well, if you look at the top-pinned content on Pinterest, the list is altered quite a bit. In that case, the top 10 list includes “Star Wars” in the number 8 spot and “Disney” in the number 9 spot. A “Harry Potter” wedding beats out both of those in popularity, claiming the 7th most popular theme, pinned 40,499 times.

It’s definitely fun to imagine all the creative ways to add Disney, Star Wars, Marvel, or Harry Potter into your special day. And for those who really want to take things up a notch, you can get married AT Disney World or Universal Orlando! Now that’s dedication!
