It’s a big day for Annual Passholders (or future Passholders) at Disney World!
Disney announced a new Annual Pass system with four new tiers of passes and changes to the program in general. The blockout days for select passes have changed, prices are a little different, and non-Florida resident options for Annual Passes are very limited. That’s a lot of new changes to keep track of! And here’s one more change that you should be aware of before buying your new Disney World Annual Pass.
Disney announced that the new Annual Passes CAN sell out! The number of passes is limited, so at any time Annual Passes may be unavailable for purchase.
The limit to the number of passes is an effort by Disney to manage capacity in the parks and limit attendance. They haven’t announced yet if this change will be permanent or how many new passes will be sold. The limit only applies to new passes, so if you already have an Annual Pass and just need to renew, you should be fine to do so.
If you’re buying a new Annual Pass, though, make sure you set your alarm for September 8th, because that’s when you can start buying the new passes. They will be available for purchase through the My Disney Experience app, the Disney World website, or in person at a theme park ticket window or the Disney Ticket Center in Disney Springs. If you’d prefer, you can call Disney at 407-W-DISNEY (407-934-7639).
