Did anyone else grow up on those amazing Disney channel original movies?
Hey, we’re not about to knock High School Musical or The Cheetah Girls here — those are true classics. At the Television Critics Association Summer Press Tour, Disney announced several new movies and a new show coming to Disney Channel soon!
According to Business Wire, Disney announced two upcoming Disney Channel Original Movies, a new animated series, and two Disney Junior Holiday Movies coming out in October and December.
Disney Channel Original Movies
The new movie Under Wraps will premiere Friday, October 1st, 2021. This is a remake of an old Halloween film that follows three kids who befriend a mummy and then must help him return to his resting place by midnight on Halloween. Of course they encounter some spooky opposition along the way!
Christmas Again is premiering on Friday, December 3rd, 2021. It’s the story of a teenager, Ro, who is not happy with her holiday season. She expresses her wish for things to change to a neighborhood Santa, and she suddenly finds herself re-living the same holiday over and over again. A Christmas-themed Groundhog Day movie? We’ll take it!
Disney Channel Animated Series
The new animated series The Ghost and Molly McGee is coming to Disney Channel on Friday, October 1st, 2021.
This series is about a grumpy ghost who’s tied to an eternally optimistic pre-teen, Molly.
Disney Junior Holiday Movies
On Disney Junior, kids can watch the new Mickey’s Tale of Two Witches, which is showing on Thursday, October 7th, 2021. The story follows two witches, Minnie the Wonderful and Daisy Doozy, who must pass four tests and graduate from the Witch Academy.
And last but not least, there will be a premiere of Mickey and Minnie Wish Upon a Christmas on Thursday, December 2nd, 2021. This story is all about Mickey, Minnie, and their friends trying to get back to Hot Dog Hills by Christmas Eve to spend the holidays together.
