Anthony Mackie Officially Signs on for Marvel’s ‘Captain America 4’!

The Marvel Cinematic Universe just keeps on growing!

There are 24 movies and counting, and 3 shows on Disney+, including WandaVision, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, and Loki. Many more Marvel shows are coming to Disney+, and we know about several upcoming movies like Spider-Man: No Way Home and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. And now, we have news about another brand new Marvel movie that will be added to the lineup!

Captain America 4 is happening with Anthony Mackie carrying the shield!

According to Deadline, Mackie has closed a deal to star in his first superhero film. The actor’s character, Sam Wilson (AKA Falcon), was chosen by Steve Rogers (the first Captain America) to succeed him at the end of Avengers: Endgame.

Marvel Studios hasn’t released any details about whether the movie will involved Sebastian Stan (AKA Bucky Barnes/The Winter Soldier). The two starred side-by-side in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier on Disney+, which showed Sam Wilson’s struggle with the responsibility of the shield, but eventually fully adopting the role of Captain America.

Anthony Mackie has played Falcon in 6 Marvel films, with his first appearance being in Captain America: The Winter Soldier.

Malcolm Spellman, the head writer and creator of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, is writing Captain America 4, along with series staff writer Dalan Musson, according to Deadline. We’ll let you know when we find out more about the movie, so stay tuned to All Ears for updates!
