It’s been a long year for the Disney Cruise Line when it comes to cancelations.

Though select Disney cruises have set sail once again and fans anticipate the brand new ship coming in 2022, there are still many cancelations impacting travelers. And, now Disney has pushed back the date that another cruise will resume sailing once again and made modifications to the itinerary.
The Disney Cruise Line has announced that the September 4th, 2021 sailing of the Disney Fantasy has been canceled. Now, the Disney Fantasy will begin sailing a little later in the month on September 11th, 2021 with 4-night cruises from Port Canaveral, Florida.

Those who are booked on the September 4th voyage and have paid their reservation in full have already been contacted with the choice of receiving a cruise credit (that can be used towards future sailings) or a full refund. And, those who did not pay in full will automatically receive a full refund for all that they have paid so far.

Now, the 4-night sailings that resume on September 11th will be available for booking beginning August 25th, 2021, and the itinerary will initially only include a stop at Disney Castaway Cay (Disney’s private island in the Bahamas). Disney Crusie Line then hopes to resume the Disney Fantasy’s 7-night voyages (or longer) beginning in October, though more details are to come in the near future.

Due to the change in itinerary, guests who are already booked on the 7-night Voyages on the Disney Fantasy departing on September 11th, 18th, 25th, and October 2nd will automatically transition to the new 4-night itinerary and receive a refund for the difference in cost. Plus, those who sail on their original date will receive a $400 non-refundable onboard credit per stateroom and a 25% discount that can be applied to most sailings through September 30th, 2022.

The Disney Fantasy will be the third cruise ship to resume sailing from Disney’s fleet, as both the Disney Magic and Disney Dream have been taking guests on modified voyages since this summer.

Of course, Disney Cruise Line’s final payment window is still extended through January 31st, 2022 and the relaxed cancelation fee schedule is in effect until the same date so guests booking a cruise can enjoy more flexibility when it comes to planning their vacation right now.
