Will There Be Characters at Disneyland When It Reopens? Here's What We Know!

There is some BIG news coming from Disneyland Resort today.

That’s right — Disneyland officially has a reopening date: April 30th. And we’re starting to get info. on all the details surrounding the theme parks’ reopening, including details on hotels, suspended entertainment, reservations, and WHO can visit. And we’re doing our best to keep you updated!

One of the questions you might have about the reopening is this: will there be any characters at the theme parks? Well, we’ve got answers! Although character meet and greets will not happen when Disneyland Resort and Disney California Adventure reopen, you will get to see characters in new and interesting ways.

There will be surprise appearances of characters on Disneyland’s Main Street, U.S.A., which could potentially be similar to the character cavalcades we’ve seen at Disney World. At Disney California Adventure’s Pixar Pier, Disney promises “playful interactions” with characters. Disney stated: “Beloved characters will pop up in new ways and sometimes in unexpected places as they remain mindful of physical distancing.”

Examples are Mickey and Minnie waving from the train station, princesses appearing at the Royal Theater to wave and pose from a distance. Guests can expect to see Mater and Lightning McQueen in Cars Land.
