The Most Amazing Places People Propose in Disney World

Disney World is one of the most romantic places in the world. It’s where couples make memories, get engaged, and sometimes get married.

Grand Floridian Wedding Chapel

There are nice restaurants with sweeping views and gorgeous photo opportunities on every corner. It’s a great setting to pop the question, especially if you and your future spouse are big Disney fans. We’re putting together a list of the best and most unique places to propose in Disney World!

World Showcase Pavilion

EPCOT is home to some of the most beautiful structures in Disney World. Each pavilion is inspired by a different country and the buildings are replicas of real monuments found in those countries. If you can’t afford to buy a ticket to France, EPCOT is the next best thing! There are a ton of private and romantic settings that provide a nice backdrop for your proposal.

France Pavilion

The Italy Pavilion has a viewing area complete with a stationary gondola and Spaceship Earth in the background. Also, the inside of the Mexico pyramid is dimly lit and romantic. Reserve a table at San Angel Inn Restaurante to have dinner and an engagement!

You might want to choose something a little more unique at EPCOT. Morocco is an underrated choice and deserves a shoutout.

The buildings are exquisite and the fountain out front makes for a great picture!

Rides with a View of the Castle

Loads of people get engaged in front of the castle. We can totally see why! It’s one of the most iconic structures in the world! You might want to change it up a bit though. There are a couple of rides that offer a view of the castle and make for a unique proposal setting. For those of you seeking an exciting proposal, try the Astro Orbiter! The rocket ships are placed high above Tomorrowland and it’s especially beautiful at sunset. Zoom around with your partner and ask the big question while taking the sights of the castle!

The PeopleMover is a slow-moving ride that takes you through Tomorrowland and gives you a great view of the castle.

It’s also a fairly long ride so you’ll have time to enjoy the moment.

Favorite Rides or Experiences

We’ve heard stories of couples getting engaged on their favorite rides or experiences. It means a lot more when you propose on a ride that the two of you love or where you have created fond memories. The Haunted Mansion is a spooky setting for couples who love the classic attraction.

Or, ask for their hand at your favorite show like Hoop de Doo Revue!

Thrill Rides with a Photo

We’ve also seen a lot of couples get engaged while experiencing a thrill ride! You can ask your better half to marry you while dropping 13 stories on the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror. Or, during the launch on Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster!

And, there’s nothing more adrenaline-inducing than asking someone to marry you while plummeting down Splash Mountain. Just make sure you time the proposal with the picture! Then you’ll have the fun memory to keep forever!

Theme Park Icons

Cinderella Castle is the most popular choice for an engagement. It’s stunning, recognizable, and very “Disney World.” Many people love the iconic structure framing their romantic moments whether you’re just taking a nice photo or getting engaged. You can also try the back of the castle if you want to have fewer crowds with a background that’s just as beautiful.

Other great choices include the Tree of Life or Pandora – The World of Avatar in Disney’s Animal Kingdom. This park is lush with foliage and colorful backdrops. Pro-Tip: Head to the back of Tree of Life! As you exit Africa towards Asia, you’ll see a private spot where you can usually find a PhotoPass Photographer. It’s quiet and offers a beautiful view of the tree!

Another popular choice is in front of the Millennium Falcon in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.

The ship is a replica of the Falcon from the movies and is a really awesome spot for Star Wars fans!

Romantic Restaurants

There are some really fancy restaurants that offer some lavish meals like Victoria & Albert’s. This is a really nice place to get engaged. There are other restaurants that aren’t quite as pricey, but give a great experience in a romantic setting. California Grill in Disney’s Contemporary Resort has an observation deck that overlooks the Magic Kingdom. Likewise, Narcoossee’s at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa has a deck with a view of the Seven Seas Lagoon and the castle.

These are just a few great spots to get engaged at Disney World! Every corner offers a great view, perfect backdrop, or fun experience. It’s one of the most romantic places in the world and a great place to create those long-lasting memories. Choose your favorite spot and just go for it!

  1. I proposed in the Swiss family treehouse (her favorite movie) July 12, 2007 then left for Army basic training July 20,2007

  2. My husband proposed to me in front of the Be Our Guest restaurant, right on the bridge. We were headed out of breakfast, ran into a few friends who asked if they could take our picture. He told me I was “his princess” and dropped down on one knee. I cried happy tears the rest of the day. We visit that spot every single time we go back. We had a Beauty and the Beast wedding to top it off. My favorite memories are in Disney World.

  3. My husband proposed under the Osbourne Lights. We had walked up from the Boardwalk and my husband was rigid and almost crushing my hand. It was our first night and our niece’s first trip. We get in line for one of the photo pass spots and my mother in law shoves us forward (she knew). My husband goes “Zip up.” I have no idea what he’s doing or why he wants me to zip up but I do it. Then I see Nick on the ground. My little peanut head is confused. Then he asks me to marry him. I ask if he’s serious. He looks stumped and says he is. I finally catch up and say yes. Meanwhile, my sister in law is freaking out since she figured out what was happening well before I did. We all cry some happy tears and the cast members help us celebrate.

There were many sad tears when they ended the Osbourne Lights. Still wish we were able to get one of the ornaments.

  4. I proposed to my boyfriend at Tomorrowland Terrace when we were there for the Happily Ever After dessert party. I arranged for a photopass photographer to be there to capture our special moment and I was so nervous I couldn’t eat a lot though 😭
And then at the end, as the narrator tells you to reach out and find your happily ever after, I got down on one knee and asked him to be my Happily Ever After. He was so surprised and happy. He helped me up and reach into his bag, digging through it AND PULLED OUT A RING FOR ME AS WELL! It was perfect.
The photopass photographer took some beautiful photos of us together and the people around us were cheering and it was the most magical thing I could ever imagine 🤩

  5. I got engaged on Main Street, U.S.A. right outside the Confectionary. My now-husband sang to me with the Dapper Dans to propose!!

    1. Hi Susie! Congratulations! We are going to Disney next week and my daughter’s boyfriend is going to propose. I would love for the Dapper Dans to be around but I know he wants to do it close to the front of the castle. Do you have any suggestions?

  6. I got engaged on our balcony at the Grand Floridian during the electric boat parade (my favorite thing at Disney). It was perfect!

  7. My new SIL proposed to my DD on the Grand 1 Yacht, after watching the fireworks from MK. They got married in the Wedding Pavilion in Feb 2020

  8. I proposed to my wife on the beach at the Polynesian (pre-bungalows) during the Wishes fireworks. She’s always been a big fireworks fan, so it was almost a distraction for her to take her eyes away from the show.

  9. Private carriage ride from Port Orleans Riverside, bouquet delivery from Guest Services as we got off of it and a proposal my (now) wife didn’t see coming! Super intimate and romantic without having to be surrounded by people, and the Guest Services rep even took photos while it happened!
