Disney’s Aulani Resort reopened for guests this past November, and we’re already starting to see some exciting new offerings being announced at this Disney Vacation Club Resort!
If you’re a fan of Duffy & Friends, you’ll be excited to hear that you’ll soon be able to say “Aloha” to ‘Olu Mel at the resort!
Disney has announced that ‘Olu Mel will now greet guests at Disney’s Aulani Resort! Sporting his ukulele, he joins Mickey, Minnie, Stitch, Donald, and Daisy as characters that you can snap a photo with on your Aulani vacation.
If you’re unfamiliar with Duffy & Friends, you may remember seeing a cuddly-looking teddy bear make meet and greet appearances in Disney World several years back. The bear, named Duffy, belongs to Mickey Mouse, and he has a whole crew of friends, including ShellieMay, Gelatoni, StellaLou, CookieAnn, and of course Olu Mel.
These characters have a massive presence in the Disney Parks over in Asia, but Olu Mel in particular is Duffy’s resident pal at Aulani! We’ve also spotted some Olu Mel merchandise at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort.
Keep in mind that at this time, Disney’s Aulani Resort is experiencing a phased reopening with physical distancing measures in place along with other health and safety guidelines. If you have an upcoming trip planned to Aulani, character interactions may be physically distanced for the safety of guests and Cast Members.
