Disney Announces New Agreement With Comcast for Disney+ and ESPN+

During today’s Investor Conference we’ve already heard updates about Disney+ subscribersRaya and the Last Dragon, and so much more!

Disney also shared some news about a special deal that they’ve reached with Comcast involving the rights for distribution of the Disney+ and ESPN+ services on its platforms.

During today’s conference, Disney noted that a new agreement has been reached with Comcast that will provide a fully integrated Disney+ and ESPN+ experience to some Comcast users.

According to the information shared on Businesswire, the “agreement includes the rights for Comcast to distribute the Disney+ and ESPN+ services on its Xfinity X1 and Flex platforms.”

Rebecca Heap, Senior Vice President of  Video and Entertainment at Comcast Cable noted, “With the addition of Disney+ and ESPN+, [Comcast’s] X1 and Flex customers will soon have the ability to easily find and watch the complete range of Disney shows and sports.”

Michael Paull, President of Disney+ and ESPN+, said “Creating seamless experiences for consumers to easily access Disney+ and ESPN+ wherever they enjoy their entertainment is a top priority for us and we are incredibly excited about the upcoming launches on Comcast’s Xfinity X1 and Flex platform.”

Disney+ and ESPN+ will launch on Comcast’s X1 and Flex platforms in the first quarter of 2021. We’ll keep an eye out for more updates about this agreement and future Disney+ news and let you know what we find.
