Walt Disney World has some pretty wonderful souvenirs, and it’s tempting to load up when you’re on vacation.
Merchandise can be a great way to rep your favorite brands or commemorate happy memories with family and friends, but it can also be a way to end up with something you maybe didn’t need as much as you thought you did.
Let’s take a look at five of the most overrated souvenirs at Walt Disney World!
1. Bubble Wands
First off, we have to rag on Bubble Wands. These cute toys are a kiddo’s dream when you’re strolling through the parks. But when you get home, you’re looking at a sticky mess and a toy that might not ever get touched again. They’re fun while they last but maybe not worth the buy.
Plus you can buy these guys for WAY cheaper at Walmart and other retailers prior to your trip!
2. Spinny Toys
In the same vein as Bubble Wands, you might want to skip out on any Spinny Toys. These trinkets are super fun for a little while, especially on an evening in the theme parks.
But once you get home, you might catch them tossed to the wayside, never to be spun again.
3. Spirit Jerseys
Okay, this one might be a little controversial, but we’re going to say Spirit Jerseys are a bit overrated. Don’t get us wrong, we do tend to fall into the trap and snag these guys, but they might not be all we want them to be.
After all, it really boils down to being a $70 long-sleeve t-shirt. They may be cute, but what an investment!
4. Popcorn Buckets and Souvenir Sippers
Get used to the controversial choices! We’ve got another one! Popcorn Buckets and Souvenir Sippers just might be some of the more overrated options on this list.
Like the toys earlier, these are super fun when you’re snacking in the park, but what are you supposed to do with them when you get home? Unless you have a lot of shelf space or tend to eat a ton of popcorn, these things can be pretty darn hard to store.
This last one has a few exceptions. If you’re a collector, have a Star Wars-themed room, or happen to have the perfect spot on your wall for a Lightsaber, this souvenir could be for you.
If not, it’s maybe best to leave the Lightsaber in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. It’s fun to build them for the 15 minutes you’re in Savi’s Workshop — no doubt, it’s a phenomenal experience — but after that, they become oversized flashlights.
