Get a Sneak Peek at What's to Come in Season Two of Disney+'s 'The Mandalorian!'

The Mandalorian series is a Disney+ sensation based on the Star Wars saga.

The series swept many Star Wars fans off their feet with exciting storylines and adorable co-stars like the famous “Baby Yoda.” Season two is coming soon to Disney+ on October 30th, but while fans wait, Entertainment Weekly gave everyone a taste of what’s to come.

Jon Favreau, the creator of the series, stated that “the new season is about introducing a larger story in the world.” Meaning, the story will involve characters and plot lines beyond what we’ve seen in the previous Mandalorian episodes. Executive Producer Dave Filoni went on to say that, “the stories become less isolated, yet each episode has its own flavor, and hopefully we’re bringing a lot more scope to the show.”

Much like season one, there will be eight episodes of different lengths. As for the story, the series is a direct continuation of season one. The Mandalorian and the Child will continue their quest with higher stakes and bigger obstacles than the previous season. They are pursued by Moff Gideon (and officer in the Imperial Security Bureau) who will temp the Mandalorian down a darker path. We’ve seen this “come to the dark side” Star Wars trope many times and it’s only fitting we see it in this series.

And if you’re curious whether there will be more Baby Yoda, you’re in luck! Filoni notes that “everything gets bigger, the stakes get higher, but also the personal story between the Child and the Mandalorian develops in a way I think people will enjoy.” Filoni goes on to say that the popularity of Baby Yoda got a lot more attention this time around. “He was the biggest thing on the set. There was a total shift around him. Everybody liked him before, but he wasn’t quite the celebrity that he was in season 2. This time, he was quite a big deal.”

The Mandalorian team has pulled out all the stops this season. It’s only a matter of time before lightsabers, action-packed adventure, and helmet-wearing heroes grace our televisions again. We’ll be cuddling our Baby Yoda plush and tuning on October 30th!
