Even though Disney+ has plenty of new content coming to the streaming service in August, sometimes you have to say goodbye to some classics.
And, it looks like Elena of Avalor will be playing its final episode next month in the series’ epic conclusion!
Although we’ve grown with her and love her dearly, Princess Elena will be ending her royal journey in a prime-time finale special of Elena of Avalor on August 23rd at 7PM EST.
The final episode titled Elena of Avalor: Coronation Day will show Elena (Aimee Carrero) getting ready to become queen. However, Esteban’s (Christian Lanz) team of villains will unleash the spirit misfits, the Four Shades of Awesome, to ruin the coronation. Elena, her family, and her friends have to travel to the Spirit World in order to to save her kingdom and become queen.
The Four Shades of Awesome will be voiced by Jenny Slate, Mark Hamill, Fred Armisen, and Andy Garcia with Patrick Warburton guest starring as the Grand Macaw, who is the dark ruler of the Spirit World. Other returning voice actors include Gina Rodriguez, Mario Lopez, Rachel Brosnahan, Cheech Marin, Disney Legend Whoopi Goldberg, Eden Espinosa, and more. Gaby Moreno, the singer behind the Elena of Avalor theme song, will be back again as well.
The creator and executive producer Craig Gerber has stated that, “It has been a tremendous honor for me to bring Disney’s first Latina princess to the screen. Everyone involved with Elena of Avalor, from the creative team to the unbelievable cast and crew, felt the responsibility to get this right. We created the character of Elena with the hope that she would be a role model, not just for young Latina girls watching, but for all children to be able to see what a true leader looks like.”
Gerber continued by saying, “From the beginning, Elena’s story arc has been that she would one day become queen. With the series finale, the creative team has been able to bring Elena’s story to the thrilling conclusion that we always envisioned. I can’t wait for viewers to see the final chapter in Elena’s epic adventure.”
Although it’s the finale, Elena of Avalor will still continue to play on Disney Junior and Disney Channel, as well as Disney+. You can watch a sneak peek of the final episodes of the series below!

Being blind, and a singer, there are few shows I can enjoy more than my Elena of Avalor. I love the stories and my sissie Jordan and I wait anxiously for each show to come on. Daddy describes the scenes and we all sing many of the songs together. Daddy loves the theme song.
I am very very sad that the show is cancelled. It makes me very sad because I love the show so very much. I will miss it so.
