This Spring was set to be a big one for Disney’s film division, with multiple blockbuster films set for release through the end of March. Unfortunately, precautions over the current situation have grounded the film industry to a halt, with theaters closing and production being delayed for health reasons.
If you were looking forward to catching a Disney film in theaters this spring, you’re going to need to change your plans. Here’s a list of every Disney and 20th Century Studios film that has been delayed.
Mulan
The live-action remake of the 1998 classic was set to release on Friday, March 27th, but has since been postponed indefinitely.
Black Widow
In a surprising move, Marvel’s Black Widow, which was not scheduled to be released until May 1st, has also been postponed.
This is likely to give breathing room to Disney’s other films. While it is possible to release them all at once, it would be a financially unsound idea, as multiple competing films means a smaller overall profit.
The New Mutants
Billed as a “superhero horror film”, this X-Men spin off focuses on five newly awakened mutants trying to escape the mysterious facility they’ve been confined to. Set for an April 13th release, the film has also been delayed, making it the latest in delayed release dates for the feature.

Antlers
A sci-fi horror film about a middle-school teacher who discovers a young boy is hiding a malevolent creature in his home.
The film was set for release on April 13th, but will be remaining in the woods until a later date.
The Personal History of David Copperfield
This adaptation of the Charles Dickens classic has nothing to do with the magician, instead following the trials and tribulations of a young aspiring writer who many believe was inspired by Dickens himself.
The film has already seen a release in the United Kingdom to rave reviews, so hopefully we will see this one in theaters shortly after the quarantine order is lifted.
The Woman In The Window
A psychological thriller based on the novel of the same name, The Woman In the Window follows an agoraphobic psychologist who suspects her neighbor has fallen victim to foul play…
Set for a May 15th release, the film’s release has also been delayed.
It is unknown when any of these films will hit theaters, as no definite release dates were given. Studios such as Universal Pictures have taken the interesting strategy to release upcoming features such as Troll 2: World Tour directly to digital distribution, so we will be keeping our eye out to see if Disney is to take on a similar distribution method.
