Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, has been all over the news since her engagement and wedding to Prince Harry (not to mention the birth of adorable Archie). And now, if reports are correct, she might be a Disney Princess next… or, well, at least a voice in a movie with a princess? We hope? She’s really living the dream!
According to a report from The Times UK, the Duchess of Sussex has signed a deal to do voiceover work with Disney. Instead of normal payment, Disney will reportedly be making a contribution to the wildlife charity Elephants Without Borders. The charity is focused on “conserving wildlife and natural resources” through innovative research and education.
Recently, Meghan and Harry announced their intention to step back from their senior royal duties and become financially independent. It was also reported they wanted to focus on their charitable work.

Disney has worked with elephant charities in the past and even has its own Conservation Fund that helps protect the loveable pachyderms. They even work with a project called the Elephants & Bees Project, which helps improve the bee population, elephant population, and lives African farmers. Elephants used to destroy land while eating crops, but they are naturally afraid of bees (bet you didn’t know that). The charity set up farmers with honeybees to put around their crop’s borders. Now the crops are protected, they have another source of income from the honey, and the farmers don’t have to hurt the elephants to protect their farms.
It is surreal to think that one day we could sit down to watch a Disney movie, and the princess in it could be voiced by an actual royal. (We’re putting that thought out into the universe, so Secret, don’t fail us now!) Fun related fact: did you know that the Earl of Sandwich restaurant chain is partially owned by the actual 11th Earl of Sandwich and his son? Now you know!
