Disney Parks to Celebrate Family Volunteer Day Later this Month

Looking to do some good on your Disney vacation? Disney, in conjunction with Points of Light, is holding a worldwide celebration for Family Volunteer Day on November 23!

The celebration begins at 10:30AM Eastern with a ceremony at Disney Springs to honor the Aguirres family: the first ever Disney Volunteer Family of the Year! Afterward, guests are invited to the Volunteer Village, where local nonprofits have set up fun (and free!) volunteer activities.

After you’re done writing postcards for Operation Uplift or building a giant Lego mural for Clean the World, you can take proof of your volunteering efforts to select Disney Springs retail and dining locations for some special offers and discounts. Plus, in honor of Family Volunteer Day, Disney will donate one dollar to the Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida  for every purchase made at Once Upon a Toy and Goofy’s Candy Co.

On the West Coast, Disneyland Resort is holding its own celebrations for Family Volunteer Day. Visitors to Disney’s California Adventure can make keepsake badges for the teachers and students of Inside the Outdoors. Outside of the parks, Disney’s VoluntEARS are holding events around Anaheim in support of local non-profits.
