The D23 Expo is happening RIGHT NOW in California. It’s the place to be this weekend for Disney updates, news, announcements, and more!
And thanks to the Expo, we’ve got a first look at the costumes and ride vehicles for two of the most highly anticipated attractions coming to Walt Disney World!
First up, Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway! This attraction is the FIRST ever to star Mickey Mouse (shocking, right?!) and will be moving into the Chinese Theater at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Spring 2020!
Check out the adorable new costumes! We love the conductor look, yet the red shirt still has a very Chinese theater vibe. You can also see a model of the train cars that will guide you through the attraction.
Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway promises to be like nothing we’ve ever seen before — and literally puts you in the middle of a Mickey Mouse cartoon short! We cannot wait!!
Also on display at the D23 Expo are the costumes and vehicle for the TRON Lightcycle Run Coaster!
The new costumes have a very sci-fi jumpsuit feel, and remind us a lot of outfits worn in the Tron movies. The new vehicle, called a Lightcycle, looks like it was plucked right off of the Grid!
The TRON Lightcycle Power Run is currently the most popular ride in Shanghai Disneyland and is set to open in Magic Kingdom in 2021 as part of Walt Disney World’s 50th Anniversary celebration! Construction on the track is already underway!
