If you haven’t already, it’s time to start planning your finest attire for Dapper Days this month at Disneyland and Walt Disney World and even Disneyland Paris.
Here in Orlando, the fun gets started April 27 and continues through April 29. In Anaheim, events take place April 21 and 22. If you’re lucky enough to be in Paris, break out your best on May 5.
Dapper Day — a day designated for guests to dress up and visit the Disney Parks — has become more and more popular each year. And although the celebration is not officially sponsored by Disney Parks, one report says that about 30,000 people participate in this event, which is held twice a year at each park.
This year, the first Dapper Day outing at Walt Disney World will take place from 7 to 10 p.m. Friday, April 27, at The Edison at Disney Springs. There is no cover charge and it’s all ages welcome until 10 p.m. After then, only 21 and older can enter the venue. Special cocktails will be created just for Dapper Day participants: The Chap (caol ila scotch, branca menta, knob creek bourbon, sugar) and The Dandy (kettle one oranje, creme de violettes, pineapple, amaro Montenegro). The band begins at 9:30 p.m. Guests also will find a selection of Dapper Day merchandise at the entry.

On Saturday, April 28, the Dapper Day outing is at the Magic Kingdom. There also will be a mini boutique featuring official Dapper Day merchandise and Pinup Girl Clothing at the Grand Floridian Conference Center from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. During that time, pop culture humorist and author Charles Phoenix will present his Retro Disneyland Slide Show to tell the amazing back stories and show mid-century Disneyland at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Tickets for the 80-minute show are on sale here for $29. Guests who would like to have breakfast, including Mickey waffles, with Phoenix beforehand can select that option with show admission for $58.
On Sunday, April 29, the Dapper Day outing is at Epcot. “Due to the huge crowds that attend out park outings, we do not organize any group photos or in-park meet-ups at specific times,” according to DapperDay.com
However, last year, Walt Disney World did offer some unofficial extras, such as boxed lunches and themed desserts that were available to all guests.
Guests attending Dapper Day events are invited to take advantage of special Walt Disney World hotel rates and ticket packages by calling Disney group reservations at 407-939-4686, Option 3. Use Group Name “Dapper Day Spring 2018” and Group Code: G0732435. Participating hotels include Pop Century, Coronado Springs, Beach Club, Port Orleans, Polynesian Village and Grand Floridian. For park tickets, guests who purchase any two-day or more full-day meeting/ convention multi-day ticket will save money and also get one visit to Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park, Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park, or a choice of other activities.
At Disneyland resort in California, the Dapper Day spring outing is on Sunday, April 22, at both theme parks. The Dapper Day Expo at the Disneyland Hotel Exhibit Hall will take place from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. April 21 and 22. The expo features a selection of vintage and contemporary clothing and accessories vendors, including local cosmetics and grooming brands; barbers; jewelry; eyewear; shoes; and new official Dapper Day merchandise. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased here. Children ages 12 and younger are free.
During the expo, Dandy Wellington and his band perform at 1 and 5 p.m. Saturday and noon and 4:15 p.m. Sunday. Before each set, there will be a free dance lesson. Also, Dita Von Teese will be signing her new book “Your Beauty Mark: The Ultimate Guide to Eccentric Glamour” from noon to 1 p.m. and 3 to 4 p.m. Sunday.
