Contributing photographer Jason of disneygeek.com sends us these photos from his trip to the parks on Friday, April 25, 2014.

Friday and Saturday there was a Million Dollar Arm Pitching Contest in Downtown Disney. They were just getting started as I walked by. A flyer about the event.

I took the Monorail into the park. No real visible progress on the subs.

Over at Alice looks like the track layout is staying the same. The wood appeared to be giving a rough idea of where the new extensions/walkways will go out to.

Small World is closed again as work continues on the safety retrofitting inside.

Oops.. showed up just as Magical Map was letting out.

Alice from ground level. Here you can see the new metal supports for the extension that are being installed.

Stopped by the Big Thunder Ranch. The Springtime Roundup has lost its Easter decorations and most of the bunnies.

Brer Rabbit was out for pictures.

Thumper was too.

Mickey also arrived

Most of the photo areas were empty during my short time in the area.

Walked through New Orleans Square.. not much is different looks about the same as it has for months with scaffolding and tarps up throughout.

Decided to walk through the Treehouse. Adventureland from above.

Rivers of America river front.

From the treehouse you can see some roof work going on in New Orleans Square. Looks to be fall protection related.

Some new merchandise in the Adventureland Bazaar that is at least land specific (but not park specific.. meaning WDW vs Disneyland).

Salt and Pepper shakers.

In Disney California Adventure a Maleficent sneak peak has taken over the “it’s tough to be a bug” theater.

A warning about the show.

Inside, the bug movie posters are gone. No posters for Maleficent, though. In the theater the new projector was really clear and the film quality was great.

At Ghirardelli they were passing out free samples of the mini squares. For comparison the new on the left and traditional squares on the right.

Grizzly River Run was closed for renovations. Seems odd they did not do this during the cold months and instead are doing it now leading into summer.

Redwood Creek Challenge Trail has finally reopened. Well, most of it has reopened.

It appears to be about the same, no major changes. Just some new paint, railings, and nets from what I could tell.

I said most has reopened because on the upper areas the net walkways were all closed off still.

Preparing for World of Color on Paradise Bay as some darker clouds pass by overhead.

More of the scaffolding around the Wharf has been removed.

Walked through Cars Land. Fillmore’s this evening.

Ornament Valley, thought this shot came out well considering it’s free hand and no processing.

Stopped back by to see the sign after dark.

Walked through Atwater Ink & Paint and spotted more trashcan salt and pepper shakers.

Stopped for Fantasmic!

Oops the dragon’s fire/breath did not ignite tonight.

My evening ended with Fantasmic. The fireworks show was cancelled and it started to rain as I reached Main Street.
