Review of Le Cellier Lunch/Dinner

We had eaten here several times for lunch and this time for dinner. The soup is so wonderful, we were happy even after running to the restaurant in a monsoon and all of us were soaked to the bones (December 12th). My son and I ordered the porkchop which was a little dry and tough as it had cooked too long. "Fried Cheddar Cheese Pasta" is macaroni and cheese with a crust and we had something that seemed like a mushroom root on one side of the plate. My son's girlfiend had the lambchop which she said was good but not out of the ordinary as she is an excellent cook in her own right and has cooked us many meals much better tasting than the ones we had. My bill was over $50.00 for one person and I was so very disappointed in the food. I have given 9 and 10 ratings before but even this rating is a little overstated. Sorry to say we will not be going back as a family. We will eat at the Liberty Tree instead.

Pros:

cheddar cheese soup and cheddar cheese soup

Cons:

food did not warrant the high price of this meal

Review of Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique

My 12 year old daughter had a Courtyard Package makeover at the Downtown Disney location of December 14, 2012. We go to Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique every year. She has had all the other makeovers several times. Therefore, it was exciting to try a new one.
The Courtyard Package was a little bit more expensive than the other makeovers ($89), but you get more. This package included a pink t-shirt with a darker pink glittery Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique logo on it, a bright pink tutu like skirt with a black waist bow and black ruffle on the bottom, 2 colored hair extensions, nail polish, make-up, pink BBB drawstring bag, and a adorable hairstyle. The hairstyle consists of twisting the hair back in rows on the top of the head. My daughter chose pink and blue hair extentions. These were clipped to the back of her hair. The hairstyle was very cute and easily lasted the next day.
We had a later appointment, after 7:30 pm. Therefore, the salon was not too busy. My daughter received so much attention by two FGIT. I was afraid that since she was at the top end of the age limit, she would feel uncomfortable. That was not the case. The FGITs (Kaitlin and Dani I think) told her stories, made her laugh, and just entertained her the whole time. They were awesome. The dubbed her the princess of Canada.
Getting a makeover at BBB is a tradition for my daughter. I really wish Disney would remove the age restrictions. In all the times we have been to BBB, I have seen very few teens or adults getting makeovers (except for Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party nights). It is a shame to prevent the few teens that do enjoy such a makeover from experiencing this Disney magic. Disney is for all ages.

Pros:

FGMT made it such a personalized experience

Cons:

Review of Remy - Specialty French Dining

We elected for a later seating after enjoying a Couple's Choice Villa Treatment at Senses earlier in the day during the DVC Member Cruise 1/10-1/13/13. Remy's called to say an earlier seating was available due to cancellation and we were happy to accept (glad we did as this seating was approximately 3 hours of delight and wonderment). We each chose one of the dining options (American or French) and also the wine pairing experience. Nabil (our head server) and our sommelier (I apologize, but can't remember his name), were both fantastic. The food was just delightful. A full explanation of each course and each wine was very helpful. Rather than review each course, just do yourself a favor and try the Remy "Experience". In our view (both from a lengthy food and beverage and hospitality background), well worth the time and additional cost.

Amazing Food, Service and Presentation

Took our first DCL cruise on the DVC Member Cruise 1/10-1/13/13 and waited on the phone during the first day that the booking became available so we could ensure ourselves of obtaining a Navigator's Suite/Verandah. We chose Cabin/Suite 11004 and had the time of our lives on this cruise. Fortunate enough to meet Claire (bitter/sweet as she is moving on to France). Had a wonderful concierge staff, attending to every request. Cabin hosts Jaime and Carlos were both professional and hospitable throughout. Both were great!!! Thanks gentlemen. We loved it.

Great Suite/Great Service/Great Time

Review of Spa Villas

Both Michael and Nadia were amazing during our couple choice in the Villa during the DVC Member Cruise 1/10-1/13. We chose this treatment in the morning prior to going to Remy's for dinner (look for a separate review for more amazing comments). Both Michael and Nadia were very helpful in their knowledge and suggestion(s) for additional products which we both are enjoying back at AKL(Jambo House). Their professionalism and hospitality were characteristic of what Walt would have been proud to enjoy. A wonderful cruise (our first DCL cruise) and memorable experience. Thanks Michael and Nadia. We will definitely remember this treatment and your fantastic hospitality.

Review of Saratoga Springs Resort (Disney Vacation Club)

We stayed (myself DW DD & DS) at SSR 1/13 to 1/20. Springs Section southern most building. Our room (2br dedicated) was in excellent condition. We disagree with the previous poster that said SSR was like a moderate resort (far from it).

The only issue we had was with bus transportation. Bus rides to and from the parks are lengthy because of the resorts size. There are 5 bus stops total. The boat service to DTD was great.

My wife was in a walking cast so we asked the front desk for a loaner wheel chair. This worked out great.

The food at Artist Palette (CS) was good. The Caprese flat bread was really good.

One of the highlights of our stay was dinner at the Turf Club B&G. Excellent food & great staff

I won’t say this resort is my favorite however we wouldn’t hesitate staying here again. We would like to try staying in the Congress Park section when we do.

Pros:

Clean & freindly resort

Cons:

Transportation to parks

Review of Polynesian Village Resort (Deluxe Resort)

Our family of 5 (3 adults, 1 teen, 1 child) stayed at the Polynesian in August. We found the environment welcoming from the second we entered the resort. The landscaping is gorgeous and concierge is very helpful! We were very happy with the room sizes, perfect amount of space for our family (having the pull out was great). The rooms were always kept clean and we always had replacement towels etc. We stayed in Tokelau and loved the fact that at the end of the hallway we could watch the fireworks (with music through the speakers). The location cant be beat - was great being on the monorail (although there were a couple of occasions that it was down)which made getting to our reservations challenging. We found the busing great, longest wait was maybe 15 minutes but most times the bus was either there or shortly arrived. We were a short walk from the quiet pool (which was a nice alternative for just cooling off). We found the Large Pool very crowded, although the kids (and adults) loved the volcano waterslide. We also really enjoyed Captain Cooks (had a good breakfast and dinner menu and good even for picky eaters + they have Dole Whip and cant complain about that). Overall, I would highly recommend the Poly, it is quite costly and not somewhere our family could always stay but we LOVED!

Pros:

Room Size, Location, Atmosphere, Captain Cooks

Cons:

Cost, Pool, Monorail Down
