My friend and I had dinner here on January 21, 2013 on the standard dining plan. I had the "A Sampling of Mom's Favorite Recipes" (Crispy-fried Chicken, Fork Tender Pot Roast, and Traditional Meatloaf with all the fixings, and my friend had the "Mom's Old Fashioned Pot Roast". I loved the chicken and meatloaf, but the pot roast was just OK. On the other hand, my friend loved her pot roast. I had the S'more for desert (my friend was too full for hers), and it could have used a lot more chocolate topping. Overall, we did enjoy the meal. Our server was friendly, but she spent more time "playing" with the larger tables she did than with us, which actually was OK with us. We were tired and wanted a quieter meal. I would recommend this restaurant, but only if you are up to joking around with the CMs.

Pros:

good food, nice atmosphere

My friend and I had dinner here on the std dining plan on 01/22/13. We both had the Grilled Tenderloin and Fried Fish, which was delicious and very filling. We were too full to eat desert, so I took the Cheesecake and she took the Jaffa tart to go. They were both delicious as well, but the Jaffa tart did not travel very well. Our waitress was very nice, but once again the service was extremely slow. I have eaten here several times before, but my friend had not. I love the food, but the seating and service are too slow and take up too much park time.

Pros:

good food

Cons:

slow service

My friend and I had dinner here on 01/20/13 on the std dining plan. As usual, the food was very good. I had never had the root vegetable medly before, and it was delicious. I did ask for more "done" beef, and the waitress brought me some slightly less pink meat, but it did have a piece of gristle which was not pleasant. We loved the turkey, pork, mac and cheese, stuffing, green beans, mashed potatoes, and cake dessert. We had one of the first reservations for dinner, and we were seated pretty promptly for a change.

Pros:

good food

Cons:

table for two is crowded

My friend and I dined here on the std dining plan on 01/25/13. We were able to get in earlier than our reservation time, which was very convenient and accommodating. We loved the crab legs, corn bread, shrimp, pasta, and desserts (Boston creme cake, cheese cake), among others. Our waitress was attentive, and we were happy to have this be our last dining experience before ending our vacation.

Pros:

delicious food

My friend and I had lunch here on 01/25/13 on the std dining plan. We both had the Tempura Shrimp Udon and a chocolate chip cookie. The CM at the counter was really friendly and made sure we understood what we were ordering. The service was fast. We enjoyed a beautiful outside setting to dine, and we thought the meal was delicious.

Free delivery as we met the $200 requirement. The groceries arrived while we were checking in and the delivery person actually waited for us and drove the groceries to our condo, and placed them all on the kitchen counter! I was pleased that everything was as ordered, and the service surpassed my expectations. I would expect that Dec. 26 would have been a busy delivery day, and there were no issues!

Pros:

Great service

Cons:

None!

I don't know if it was an off day, but the food's shortcomings were only surpassed by the staff's unfriendly demeanor. Don't waste your time and Wolfie.... Shame on you!

Cons:

Grainy sauce, cold food

We stayed in one of the new Princess rooms facing a very pretty courtyard garden and were very impressed with how lovely these rooms are. I had asked to be close to my son and his girlfriend and was happy to find out we were given adjoining rooms which makes it nice for having coffee in the AM or checking with each other on times etc. We had pizza in our rooms from the food court (very good) and did not have to go outside to visit each other's room. The grounds were so pretty in the evening and we were very close to the main building which was great for a snack or to shop in the gift shop. Check in was so easy and fast. We have stayed at Contemporary, Boardwalk, Wilderness Lodge and PO French Quarter and this is right at the top of our list. Beds were wonderful, maybe a little softer pillow would help (that is why I bring my own). They were very firm. It did rain and pour for most of our trip, but the resort was still so nice and taking the boat to DD is a real perk and relaxing also. We would stay here again anytime. Next time I hope to bring the grandkids.

Pros:

rooms are beautiful

Cons:

Review of Wild Africa Trek - Animal Kingdom

I went on this tour in Nov. 2012. It was so amazing! Tour guides Devon & Andrea were fantastic. I have other thoughts on pricing than other reviewers. I would have said that the water canteen likely would cost $20+ in a store; the lunch to get at a restaurant (you can't get it elsewhere) would likely cost $20-30; and photopass CDs (while this isn't the "traditional" photopass CD, it is essentially the same concept)usu. go for $120-150. That is the cost of the tour. The animal experiences were amazing. Yes, maybe it would be nice to let the guests toss the food to the hippos, but it was still very cool to see them & the crocodiles up close. Walking over the rope bridge was well out of my comfort zone, but that's one of the reasons I did it and it was amazing! It was wonderful to get an opportunity to pull over at various viewing areas and spend more time looking at the animals and hearing their stories. The Cheetahs came out to the road - the first I've ever seen them other than way back up against the trees. The Giraffes came up close to the Boma while we were eating lunch. It was incredible to spend time out on the Savannah and watch all of the animals, learn more about them & learn more about the Savannah. And it's nice to get to know the other people on the tour with you that you might otherwise never have interacted with at the parks. Absolutely no complaints from me! I even recommended it to multiple cast members that I spoke with during my visit. Probably one of the coolest things that I have ever done at Disney World - right up there with parasailing at the Contemporary!

Pros:

Everything!
