Review of Landscape of Flavors - Lunch/Dinner

We dined here twice. Once for lunch on our arrival day, 7/24, and once for dinner on 7/26. We ate lunch around 3pm and the food court was not crowded. Two of us ordered the Make Your Own Burger and one got the BBQ sandwich. The fries were very good, and we had no complaints on the sandwiches either. Two people got gelato (chocolate and Nutella) which they enjoyed, and I got the Everything Brownie, which was far too rich and full of stuff for me to eat more than a couple of bites.

For dinner, I ordered the make your own pasta with shrimp, alfredo and linguine. It also came with a breadstick. So good, but so much pasta! One person ordered the tandoori chicken with cauliflower and and multigrain rice, which he enjoyed. Another person had a sort of steak sandwich with cinnamon potatoes, which was not filling, and she also ordered a kids' corndog and fries. Pistachio gelato was declared a winner and I got a pumpkin tart. I took it back to the room for later, and ended up not liking it.

We ordered pizza delivery on 7/27 around 4:30pm. It came within half an hour. Our order was for a cheese pizza, two tye dye cheesecakes, and a mini margarita and mini mudslide. Of course, once they add on all the taxes and fees, the total was $45. But it was convenient and the pizza was not as bad as I expect Disney pizza to be. The tye dye cheesecake was delicious as always.

Pros:

Variety, quality

Cons:

Not a lot of "familiar" food

Review of Landscape of Flavors - Breakfast

We dined here for breakfast this morning, 7/28 around 10:15am. It was packed! I ordered the character waffles (Simba) with bacon and fresh fruit, one member of my party chose the Naan breakfast sandwich and a side of tandoori potatoes, and another person in the group got the World of Flavors platter. No complaints from this group. The lines were kind of long at the counters but moved quickly. There were not a lot of people waiting to check out, but a lot of people seemed confused about what could or could not be purchased as part of the DDP. It was not hard to find a table, and CMs seemed to be diligent about keeping them clean and ready for the next family.

Pros:

Good food, not difficult to find a seat

Cons:

Crowded

Review of Via Napoli Ristorante e Pizzeria

We arrived drenched from the rain, as did many other potential diners. We had a reservation and were whisked in with just enough of a wait to remove ponchos and shake ourselves dry. By the time we entered the restaurant we forgot all about being wet and began to examine the wonderful scenery and fantastic menu. Plenty of choices for everyone. DD had the risotto balls and declared that they were "out of this world", followed by chicken parmesan (excellent) and Tiramasu during which all she spoke was 'mmmm". I had the fried veggies for an appetizer (yummy), marguerite pizza with mushrooms (watery but good) and the Ugly but Good for dessert which isn't really ugly but is really GOOD!.
Other diners had the minestrone soup (very good), the chicken rigatoni (excellent) and vanilla gelato. It is a lot of food which they offer to box up with you. One pizza could easily serve two people.
We would definately return. Service was excellent.

Pros:

Food, service and ambience

First of all, The Contemporary is wonderful location so a quick snack restaurant is a great asset to the hotel. The menu is a fairly decent selection with something for all tastes. Service is quick (touch screen menu) but you do have to pay for the items first before receiving a pager to indicate your food is ready.
The wait staff are very helpful.
My only negative is the seating. There just simply is not enough. There is even seating across from the CC that was filled and mainly with folks not eating food. There is room to extend the seating and that would help. We saw several couples and families waiting to be seated and some eating while standing.
There is a good selection of grab and go snacks including beverages and alcohol.

Pros:

Location

Cons:

Review of Rose and Crown Lunch/Dinner

We have dined at the Rose and Crown for several years, always booking at 730-745pm reservation in order to view Illuminations from the private viewing area outside. This year was no different. We have always chosen this restaurant as the menu was versatile, great service and we have British roots, myself being a Brit.

This year was no different in terms of our reservation and the great service. What was different was the reduced menu and the food itself. The Potato soup was no longer, removing a vegetarian choice (and replaced with a meat filled soup of the day) and the rest of the appetizer choices were limited. Suffice to say when our lovely waitress returned (and she was so nice) I think she was worried and went to make sure our meals came out promptly. I did observe other diners also either passing on the appetizers or not finishing them once delivered. Entrees were just ok. DD found the fish to be more batter than actual fish and other DD did not enjoy the steak, declaring it to be very fatty. I enjoyed my vegetarian pot pie but it was mainly carrot, although I loved the potato garlic topping. Dessert was good but again very limited choice.

Having such a limited menu likely works well for the restaurant, just not so well if others are looking for old favourites or choices for more picky eaters. Note as well that the pub menu is now quite limited as well.

Service was wonderful! Waitress got a huge tip! Suffice to say, we won't return next time unless the menu choices change substantially. There are plenty of other places to choose from and after all, the food is the main reason to dine.

Pros:

Ambience and service

Cons:

Menu

We stopped in here yesterday evening around 7:45 for a light meal. Between the three of us, we had the imported cheese plate with a baguette, the quiche Lorraine and quiche Florentine, a strawberry tart, creme brulee, and what I think was the Duo au Chocolat- white and dark chocolate mousse. Everything was amazing, we were able to snatch a table just as another family was leaving, and my friends who had never been to the bakery before loved it!

Pros:

Delicious!

My two friends and I dined here yesterday morning, 7/27. Our ADR was for 10:35, but due to a wrong turn on the way to Epcot and a snafu at the turnstiles, we didn't arrive until almost 10:55. Thankfully the restaurant was not terribly busy and they were able to accommodate us almost instantly.

The picture with Belle turned out beautifully. We were seated a table right near the entrance and close to the buffet. We enjoyed the cold selections-I especially enjoyed the lingonberry muffin.

The potato casserole was definitely the stand out of the hot foods. We asked for more of that and the bacon, and were accommodated.

The princess interaction was very good. We saw Aurora, Cinderella, Ariel, and Snow White. I loved the dresses; they were much more beautiful than the every day dresses they wear for other meet & greets in the parks.

Pros:

Princess interaction, potato casserole, able to accommodate late arrival

My two friends and I dined here around 1:30pm on 7/25. We were on the DDP. We all ordered the chicken & ribs combo. I got the the Key Lime Mousse and the other two chose the Chocolate Mousse.

Everyone enjoyed the coleslaw and ribs. My friends thought the chicken was very good; I thought it was fatty, but I normally only eat white meat breasts so that may have been the problem.

We enjoyed our desserts, but none of us liked the "coating" on the mousse. My friend also loved the Safari Amber beer.

It was lunch time, but it had just downpoured and was still drizzling, so finding a seat was not difficult.

Will definitely return!

Pros:

Friendly cast, good food, easy to find seating

Cons:

Fatty chicken

Kids (12 & 15) loved this place. We all went for milk shakes which were great. I had ribs which were fine although the beans and coleslaw were just ok. DW had the steak with mash. She opted to keep the cheese butter on the side and was thankful for this as she didn't like the butter but thought the steak was fine plain. Both kids went for the build your own burger and both raved about them. DD went for fruit plate, DW went for fudge sundae and DS went for the cake bar which they all enjoyed. I was too full to eat my dessert. We all agreed this place provided a great evening meal that was something a little bit different. Food was enjoyable but the theming is what makes it so great. We will definitely be coming back.

Pros:

Great theme and novelty value

Second time we have eaten here on DDP. As on our previous trip to WDW we made this our first table service meal of the holiday. The food is still of a very good quality. I had the Duck with Anandupur glaze which was excellent and very filling. DW had the ribs which she really enjoyed and DD (15) had the Crispy Mahi Mahi which she said was fantastic. DS (12) had the Steak and Shrimp. He enjoyed the shrimp but thought the glaze on the steak was so-so. Kids both went for sorbet for desserts while I went for the New York cheesecake and my wife just had a bowl of ice cream. We were so full from the main course that we both struggled with desserts. We all love this place and it will be back on our itinerary for our next visit to WDW In two years time.

Great food - good service
