Review of Boma Flavors of Africa Breakfast - Jambo House

We were at the Boma for breakfast on 10/9 and as usual, it was delicious. Their food is soooo good. This is our favorite place to do breakfast. There just is not enough good to say about it. Their juice! Oh my goodness, I could have that for breakfast, lunch, dinner and midnight snack. Their scrambled eggs...I don't know how to describe them. They are so creamy and yumm. We make it a point to go there at least once for breakfast while we are there. Their sausage is also delicious. You just don't know where to start. The desserts are very good also although I did notice they do not have as ample a selection as they used to.

Pros:

Food, atmosphere, service

We were taken to a table soon after we arrived for our scheduled time and from there it was all good. The pizza was DELICIOUS! My son ordered spaghetti w/meatballs and he also said it was delicious. My husband ordered a dish similar to lasagna (recommended by our waiter) which he said was also delicious but goodness, there was nothing to it. It was the size of an appetizer. My husband mentioned it to the waiter and of course he said sorry. It is a dish he will not order again for that very reason, the size. And of course we will go back again.

Pros:

Delicious pizza

Cons:

portion size

We have eaten here before on several occasions and the food, service was very good. This is the first time we have had to use two dining tickets and the food went down with the additional cost. The steak was somewhat tough, my husbands was not cooked the way he wanted it, the bowl of soup my son ordered was a cup. This place is not what it used to be. The waitress was not friendly, very slow to come to our table, we were cramped along side the wall. just a poor, poor experience. We do not plan to go there anymore. I think that they are now charging two tickets has gone to their head while their food went downhill.

Pros:

pretzel bread

Cons:

server, 2 tickets, not so good

We ate here for lunch. It's typical park food, but portions were big and food was more than acceptable. The great part is the topping bar and refills on drinks. We all loaded our sandwiches with the toppings (basic lettuce, tomatoes, onion, peppers, mushrooms) which extended the value of credit. I went back several time to add more toppings. We were all stuffed before we left and had full drinks as well. We were so full, we didn't eat again til dinner. If you're looking to extended your credits and value, this is the place. If your not a huge eater, you could top your sandwich and share it to save a credit or some cash. Definitely doable. This is the 2nd time we've eaten here and will go back again.

Pros:

topping bar, refill on drinks, air conditioned

Cons:

little slow

Review of Be Our Guest Dinner

The surroundings are stunning, and guests are invited to wander the various rooms after the meal.

I wanted to love the place, but most of the food was terrible. The French onion soup was the worst I've tasted - a muddy watered-down broth topped with flavourless cheese. I ordered the shrimp and scallops in puff pastry as my entree. The seafood was perfectly cooked and the sauce was quite good, but the puff pastry was tough and chewy, and the scallops (which were served on the side) were cold.

My husband started with the mussels, which were slightly overcooked. The tomato and onions in the broth were tasty, but the broth itself was watery and flavourless. He ordered the braised pork as his entree. The pork was dry and, again, flavourless. The cauliflower puree tasted like exactly that - pureed cauliflower with nothing added. The carrots were overcooked and slightly bitter. The Brussels sprouts were undercooked, tough and lacked seasoning.

Our server was pleasant but seemed to be struggling to keep up with the demands of too many tables. To her credit, after we told her our concerns about the food, she was very apologetic and notified a manager. The manager listened attentively to our comments about the food, apologized, and removed the soup and the pork from our bill. The remaining items (the mussels appetizer, shrimp and scallops entree, one glass of wine, and one bottle of Perrier) came to $58 before tip.

Overall, this is indifferent fare at fine dining prices. Go for a quick-service lunch just to experience the beauty of the place, and go to California Grill for dinner.

Pros:

Gorgeous

Cons:

Terrible food

Love, love, loved it!!!! Excellent apps and food.. This is a great dining experience. Kids had pizza and sushi. I enjoyed the chicken parm and husband had steak. The food was 10+, the service was excellent, and atmosphere was something new. We were seated away from the lanes but could still see bowlers without it becoming a distraction. They have a great bar area also. Be sure to check out Splitsville, you won't be disappointed!!!

Pros:

Hidden Gem/ variety of food/you can bowl also!!!!

We dined here on 10/11/2013,had a great table facing the water. I was with my husband and 2 children 22, and 20. We LOVED IT....the atmosphere was fun (dj playing on the other side) but not crazy. We ordered drinks, chips and salsa to start. My husband had the paradiso burger, I had surf and turf, my son had a burrito, daughter had enchiladas. The food was excellent..to be honest I was iffy reading some mixed reviews. the service was good. Everyone around us was having a great time also.

Pros:

good food, lively atmosphere, multi age range

French Riviera Beach Rendezvous

Beach is really nice. Tour guides were friendly and helpful. Beach was clean. Water was crystal clear and beautiful. Lunch was good, large portions. I had chicken and my husband had ribs, both enjoyed. There were some locals walking the beach trying to sell things and braid hair. I politely said no thank you and they moved along. Would do this excursion again.

Pros:

Beautiful water

Cons:

Locals selling

We stayed in room # 6568 (cat 05D). We loved this room. Location is great-right near elevators and stairs midship. We did not have an issue with any noise and did not feel excessive rocking. There is a life boat directly under the balcony. Bathroom is split, lots of closet space. There was only 2 of us, so we had lots of room. Not sure how tight it would be with 3 or 4. I dont think it had a pull down bunk bed. Trying to book same room for next cruise!

Pros:

Location, space

Cons:

None!
