Review of Biergarten - Lunch/Dinner

Let me preface this my saying that I am almost pure blood German only 2 generations removed from the old country so this was all comfort food me.

Beirgarten is a buffet full of German and Bavarian mealtime staples.

I was dining alone so they put me at a table with 7 other people I didn't know at the time. I was a little nervous about that but It turned out great.

The buffet was full of all sorts of meats and of course sauerkraut and potato salad the way God intended it to be eaten. Hot. I believe I ate my body weight in kraut alone! I washed it all done with a German Pilsner beer that came in a massive Stein that took 2 hands to lift up.

During the meal, an authentic Bavarian style band in will play leading to much singing singing, dancing, drinking, eating, laughing, and talking.

It was a wonderful experience that took me back to family meals at my Grandmothers and definitely somewhere I can not wait to dine at again!

I was on dining plan so I can't comment on prices but since it's all you can eat, if you come hungry you'll get your money's worth.

The atmosphere here is more lively for dinner than lunch so keep that in mind when making reservations.

Pros:

Great food Great musice

Cons:

Seated with up to 7 strangers

Review of Behind the Seeds - Epcot

I love the Living With The Land attractions, especially going through the greenhouses. I finally had some extra time in my schedule so I signed up for the Behind The Seeds tour.

The group I was in was only 6 people so he had plenty of interaction with our guide, Kyle.

The tour started in the pest control lab where we learned about garden pests and how to control them without pesticides and were given ladybugs to release later on.

After that we saw the lab where they grow plants without seeds. You can't go into it since the environment needs to stay sterile but you can look in the windows.

After that you go into the greenhouses. Everything in the tour from here on out you can see from the boats on Living With The land but here you can take your time to appreciate the plants.

We released our ladybugs, got to touch one of the plants to watch it curls up to save water, got to eat some fresh grown cucumbers, saw now they get the plants to grow into the shape on Mickey and even without soil when needed, got to need the Tilapa in the tank, and got to smell some spices.

Kyle was quick to answer any and all question we had.

All in all I loved the tour and want to do it again on my next trip.

Regular price is $20 per person but I'm a Visa cardholder so I got $3 off.

My only complaint is that since the tour is only an hour long it does feel rushed at times as your guide tries to squeeze in all the information.

Pros:

Closer look at the greenhouses

Cons:

Only lasts an hour

Review of Landscape of Flavors - Lunch/Dinner

I was coming back from a day at the Magic Kingdom and got on the wrong bus ending up at Art Of Animation instead of Pop Century. While at AoA I decided to partake in the Landscape of Flavors food court. The main draw here is the make your own pasta where you choose the noodles, sauce, and everything else but I opted for a meatball sandwich instead. The meatballs were huge and very flavorful as was the bread and sauce. For dessert I opted for a Mickey Mouse cupcake with Oreo Cookies for the ears that I actually saved for breakfast the next morning. It was very rich and very delicious. The cookies where very soft and easy to chew. Landscape Of Flavors is definitely worth a visit if staying at AoA or even just across the bridge at Pop Century.

I was at Landscape of Flavors around 11pm and it's notable that every station except the pasta was closed at that time.

Pros:

Great Variety

Cons:

Some stations close VERY early

Review of Sanaa Lunch/Dinner - Kidani Village

We ate here on 1/8 for dinner on the DDP (3 adult women, no children). We loved eating at Sanaa, the atmosphere is lovely and feels very intimate. Our server was fantastic, very helpful and informative. We are family that loves Indian food and Sanaa did not disappoint. Even though we were on the DDP we got the bread service with all 12 sauces. It was delicious. I had the Slow Cooked in Garvey - Butter Chicken and Spicy Durban Chicken. The spicy chicken was SPICY but very tasty. My sister had the Tandoori chicken and said it was the best meal the entire 8 day trip. My mom also had the tandoori was very pleased. For dessert I had the Tanzanian Chocolate Mousse which was artfully plated and delicious, though I was jealous of my sister's Chai Cream. Everything should come with Chai Cream! I would certainly eat here again, in fact I could eat all my meals at AKL. If your nervous about the Indian flavors don't be everything is prepared well and the chefs are very attentive. We saw them come to two separate tables to answer questions and talk with guests.

My all adult party (3 women ages 33 - 67) ate here on 1/9 using the standard DDP. We were seated promptly on the second level near the bar. The seat wasn't the greatest but we could still see the windows and the MK. Our server was very prompt and funny, at no point did we feel rushed or like we were getting lesser treatment because we were on the DDP. I don't eat seafood so I had the chicken and it was one of the best meals I have ever had! My mom and sister had the lobster, as native New Englanders they know lobster and were very please with their meals as well. We would certainly eat here again.

Review of Crystal Palace Breakfast

We always try to make a early morning reservation for the Crystal Palace so that we can gain access to the park prior to its official opening. Walking down Main Street with almost no one around is wonderful.
Our reservation was for 0815 and we where seated by 0810.
For a breakfast buffet the food is really good. A wide variety of choices. I was especially happy to see the lox and cream cheese.
My niece (age 29) nearly cried two years ago when there was no breakfast lasagna. Thankfully they had it this year, and it was as good as she described it. My very picky son really enjoyed the deep fried French toast.

Pros:

food

Cons:

can get a little loud

We arrived early for our reservation and where seated quickly. The service was good.

I had the pre-set menu because I could not make up my mind.

The fish stew was excellent! The beef not so much.

Desserts were wonderful!

Walked over to Epcot for the fireworks after dinner.

Review of 1900 Park Fare Character Breakfast

This was our second time enjoying this experience.

The wait staff here is wonderful and the food is very good, lots to pick from. But that is not why you come here.

The royal family is the main draw here and they never let you down. Cindy and her step sisters are the best! Mother is great yelling at them and at people in general who where not where they where suppose to be. LOL They spend lots of time with everyone and the whole feel is relaxed and jovial.

The best moment for us was when Prince Charming finished dancing with Cinderella he came over and asked our prince to dance. To our surprise our usually shy girl jumped right up! No one at home could believe the pictures. LOL I believe that she was chosen because we where near an open area and she was the only child in a princess dress in the immediate area but I can not be sure.

Pros:

watching your princess dance with Prince Charming

Review of Sci-Fi Dine-in Theatre Lunch/Dinner

I booked this restaurant for my grandniece and my trip. Since it was the two of us, I looked for places she had never been and that I thought was surprising, since you can not tell what is inside the building and it is so different then other food places I thought she would like it.

When we arrived, we were seated right away. Since there was the two of us, we were the hitchhikers at the back of our cars. My niece had a balloon and the wait staff put it at the front to the side of the screen so it was not in anyone's view of the movie screen. It upset her at first but she got it back after so be warned if you have little ones.

The server we had was wonderful. My niece wanted a milkshake and it was no problem on the dining plan so I did not have to pay extra even though I would have. The food was very good and plentiful, I could not eat it all.

My niece said this was the best place to eat! She loved it. Since she has never been to the drive in, the whole concept was new. Even the old movie clips where new to her and she loved them. I found it a great place to unwind from the park the dark cool vibe was wonderful after the park and we had the best conversation something that is hard to do with kids in the time of iPods and cell phones. It was a nice step back in time.

Pros:

theming, food, and staff

Cons:

none
