This place is usually the best of the trip, and this trip it did not disappoint.

The steak and desserts are great!

I ordered one of the Kona beers, and it was too bitter for me. That was the only negative, but that was because of personal dislike.

Pros:

Food and service

Cons:

We dined at Kona on April 11, and it was wonderful! Four of us shared sticky wings potstickers - Yum! As entrees, we had the almond chicken, tuna, lamb, and duck. They were all very, very good and we enjoyed sharing bites. We couldn't not have dessert, so we ordered the chocolate fondue, creme brulee, and they let me order bread pudding from O'Hana! Awesome! I was over the moon and enjoyed every spoonfull.

Pros:

Fabulous Food and atmosphere

Cons:

Can't think of any

This is definitely a hidden gem and shouldn't be overlooked. We've been coming here for 9 years. Our server was great and attentive. This was the first dinner of out 8 day trip. For starters, they bring out this amazing bread with an amazing macadamia but butter! I can eat the whole thing myself. It's so good. As a drink on the dining plan, I got a pina colada. For dinner I had the noodles, which was really good. My wife had the teriyaki steak and my mother in law had the coconut chicken. All of them were very, very good. I do miss my shrimp and scallops dinner and hope they bring it back. The desserts are amazing! You can't go wrong with any choice. It was 2 year old sons birthday and they brought out a cupcake with a chocolate drawing of Lilo and Stitch. My son loved it and was happy. The server even used plates behind my son's ears to make him look like Mickey. I love Kona Cafe and can't wait to go back!

Pros:

food, service, atmosphere

This was our favorite meal of our trip. I had hoped to make reservations at 'Ohana, but there were no slots available. As a backup, I looked at the reviews of Kona Cafe - and one AllEars member had described it as the best kept secret of the Polynesian. I have to agree.

My husband had the Kona crusted pork chop and it was outstanding. I had the mahi-mahi with Swiss chard and forbidden rice and that was amazing too!
The kids were happy enough with their meals (shrimp kabobs and mickey ravioli). We were all thrilled to be able to order the (non alcoholic) specialty drinks as part of our dining plan - and it made the evening even more outstanding.

When the specialty pineapple bread and butter came, we fell in love - but I noticed there was something in the butter - turned out to be macadamia nuts which I'm allergic to. When I asked the server about it, he made sure to go back to the chef and make sure that nothing else coming to our table would have macadamias - without me asking him to.

We'll be sure to go there any time we're back!

Dined at the Kona Cafe on 12/19 for dinner on the dining plan. The bread was out of this world, DD15 asked for more, which our server was happy to bring and she just about ate the whole loaf by herself! DW ordered the Kona Coffee rubbed pork chop, which she said was the best pork chop she ever had.

I had the Teriyaki NY Stip which was cooked to perfection; DD 15 had the pan Asian noodles and DD19 had the spiced Ahi Tuna, which they both loved.

Dessert was excellent as well; the banana creme brulee was fantastic and the chocolate fruit fondue was great.
