Disney Cruise Line Ships: Disney Treasure – Everything You Need to Know

The Disney Treasure will join the Wish Class of the Disney Cruise Line fleet. It will take its Maiden Voyage with passengers on December 21, 2024, and will be the sixth ship in the Disney Cruise Line fleet. While the Disney Wish is known as Disney’s “Castle on the Seas,” the Disney Treasure will celebrate “Walt Disney’s lifelong love of adventure,” as announced in September 2022 by Disney Parks, Experiences and Products Chairman Josh D’Amaro.

INTRODUCTION

D’Amaro also shared that the design of the Disney Treasure is “inspired by the grandeur and mystery of a gilded palace,” and draws influences from Asia, Africa, and even Aladdin’s Agrabah.

©Disney

The Grand Hall is a new and stunning atrium design that debuted with the Disney Wish featuring a traditional Disney Cruise Line signature sculpture of Cinderella. The Disney Treasure’s signature sculpture will feature three beloved characters from Aladdin: Aladdin, Jasmine, and the ever-faithful Magic Carpet!

The sculpture in the Treasure’s atrium will feature Aladdin and Jasmine

The Disney Treasure will have a lot of firsts, but now it’s also the first Disney Cruise Line ship to have its own signature song. “Live the Adventure” features a lot of nods to music from Aladdin, which is the inspiration for the Treasure’s Grand Hall.

©Disney

Disney revealed that Peter Pan and Captain Hook will be the featured characters on the stern! They, of course, will “honor the ship’s motif of adventure.”

©Disney

You won’t just find friends from Aladdin and characters from Peter Pan joining you on the adventure. Disney shares that the Disney Treasure will “unlock the far-reaching realms of Disney, Pixar, Star Wars, and Marvel and embrace dynamic tales from beloved Disney Parks attractions.” For example, individual spaces on the ship are inspired by stories including Coco and Zootopia.

Of course, plenty of Disney pals will be joining in the onboard fun. In fact, Minnie Mouse will debut a brand new look on the Disney Treasure!

STATEROOMS

Custom artwork and design elements in the 1,256 staterooms onboard are meant to “evoke the exploratory spirit of beloved Disney and Pixar films.” Films reflected in the room designs will include Aladdin, Pocahontas, Up, and Encanto. In this concept art shared by Disney, you can see some of the Aladdin-inspired theming in the artwork above the bed!

©Disney

Fresh and natural hues in the room will complement the artwork, coming together to “strike an inviting balance between modern design and nostalgic charm.” When it comes to views, 877 (or 70%) of the staterooms will offer verandahs. 185 staterooms (or 20%) are oceanview rooms, while the remaining 10% will be comprised of inside staterooms.

©Disney

Guests staying in Concierge-level staterooms will be able to access a private sun deck as well as an exclusive lounge (and, of course, custom dedicated service). Those staying specifically in the Concierge Suites will find that these exclusive accommodations are inspired by The Lion King!

©Disney

Artwork, mosaics, and shades of amber and green are “reminiscent of soft, mid-morning sunlight reflecting over the savannah.”

Disney Treasure Royal Suites

Are you ready to take a peek at the Royal Suites?!  Two of the four Royal Suites will pay tribute to Bagheera of The Jungle Book!

©Disney

Rajah Royal Suites make up the other two Royal Suites. Where the Bagheera Royal Suites evoke the lush forest home of the panther, the design elements of the Rajah Royal Suites draw inspiration from the royal palace of Agrabah, where Rajah dwells along with Princess Jasmine in the film Aladdin.

Disney Treasure Tower Suite

We’ll be taking a further dive into this one, but for now, we can’t resist giving you a peek at the exclusive Tomorrow Tower Suite!

Tomorrow Tower ©Disney

Inspired by Disney World’s EPCOT, the “energetic design” of the suite — as expressed through “dynamic art pieces, molten metal accents and futuristic, colorful glass” — will bring to mind the World Discovery neighborhood of the park.

©Disney

The nearly 2,000 square foot suite will be perched in the ship’s forward funnel, offering views of the top deck of the ship and of the horizon like you’ll experience nowhere else on board.

©Disney

Up to eight guests can be accommodated in this suite, which comes complete with ” feature areas for eating, sleeping and playing,” along with a private ensuite elevator.

DINING OPTIONS

Let’s start with a classic Disney Cruise Line dining experience: Rotational Dining! Also known as the Cruise Line’s family dining concept, this service style allows guests to dine at THREE unique restaurants for dinner each evening while their own dedicated service team “rotates” with them to each restaurant, getting to know each traveling group and their preferences.

PLAZA DE COCO

Coco-themed restaurant, Plaza de Coco, will be the first theatrical dining experience based on a Disney or Pixar movie!

©Disney

This all-new restaurant, unique to the Disney Treasure, will feature live music and entertainment during TWO distinct dining experiences (and all guests will be able to enjoy both). Entertainment will be presented in a theater-in-the-round space (where the table surrounds one central stage), while the performances themselves, as well as show effects, will spread throughout the setting.

©Disney

Miguel’s story (and that of his family) will pick up where it left off in Coco, as the familia comes together in Mariachi Plaza “to take guests on a colorful, music-filled journey that celebrates family memories and togetherness.”  Disney shares that families will be welcome to join Miguel, his parents, Enrique and Luisa, and Abuelita Elena for “a gathering that honors the heritage of music and love that runs deep in the Rivera family.”

©Disney

During a second night at Plaza de Coco, guests will see Miguel reuniting with his great-great grandparents, Hector and Mama Imelda—with a little help from his magic guitar—for a celebration of Día de los Muertos. Beloved songs from Coco will be part of the festivities!

WORLDS OF MARVEL

Two restaurants that made their debut on the Disney Wish will complete the Rotational Dining lineup. Guests will be immersed in Worlds of Marvel, featuring characters and stories of Avengers (including an interaction with a certain web-slinger).

©Disney

The “worldly menu” is likewise inspired by settings in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and — as with Plaza de Coco — guests will enjoy two unique shows and dining on two separate nights.

1923

1923, which also debuted on the Disney Wish and is named for the founding year of Walt Disney Animation Studios, will continue to “celebrate the profound impact of Disney’s animation legacy” aboard the Treasure.

©Disney

Diners will be surrounded by artwork inspired by Walt Disney’s love of adventure as expressed through classic and modern Disney animated films.

©Disney

The upscale setting — reminiscent of Hollywood’s golden age — will feature “a sophisticated menu inspired by the fusion of cultural flavors found throughout California and designed with families in mind.”

MARCELINE MARKET

As on the Disney Wish, Marceline Market — which is, of course, named after Walt Disney’s childhood home of Marceline, Missouri — is a food hall that is “inspired by popular marketplaces from around the world.”

©Disney

Guests can pop in to grab a bite from oodles of constantly-changing items and enjoy their meal with ocean views from inside the Market or from the outdoor seating area.

MICKEY & FRIENDS FESTIVAL OF FOODS

If you’re looking for a quick bite, then head to the tippy-top of the ship. The upper decks will also offer “an imaginative take on fast-casual fare with a festive character twist,” such as we’ve seen on the Disney Wish with Mickey & Friends Festival of Foods featuring distinct food stations inspired by favorite Disney pals!

We’re talkin’ pizza, BBQ, Mexican fare, ice cream, grilled burgers ‘n dogs, and more… all ready for a quick bite!

ROOM SERVICE

Oh, and though it’s not a restaurant, per se, we don’t want to forget to mention that 24-hour room service is always just a phone call away from your stateroom on the Treasure!

JUMBEAUX’S SWEETS

Who’s ready for some SWEETS and TREATS?? Well, there’s a sweetshop coming to the Disney Treasure, themed to ZooptopiaJumbeaux’s Sweets (which will remind fans of the film of Zootopia’s ice cream parlor, Jumbeaux Café).

©Disney

SKIPPER SOCIETY

Can’t get enough of the Jungle Cruise? Well then… the Skipper Society is made for YOU!

Skipper Lounge ©Disney

This lounge, located near the Grand Hall, is a tribute to the beloved Jungle Cruise attraction and all its various versions at Disney Parks around the world! It sounds like the biggest adventure for those wacky and wonderful Jungle Cruise Skippers yet, set in what Disney is calling an “elevated, yet playful atmosphere.” (We imagine they’ll be able to point out the Eighth Wonder of the World — the Backside of Water! — as you sail together. 😉 )

©Disney

PERISCOPE PUB

Another new lounge, the Periscope Pub, is Disney Cruise Line’s first venue inspired by the 1954 film 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. It’s also a tribute to the Disney Parks attraction which operated in Walt Disney World from 1971 to 1994.

©Disney

The pub’s submarine-style design “will call upon 19th-century steampunk influences with polished metals and industrial touches throughout.”  But, as with all Disney spaces, you’ll want to be sure to LOOK UP. Of course, it will be difficult NOT to notice the window spanning the entire ceiling, offering views into “the mythical depths of the uncharted oceans…” (Channel your inner Captain Nemo on the Nautilus!)

HAUNTED MANSION PARLOR

The Haunted Mansion Parlor will be a lounge aboard the Disney Treasure and — you guessed it– will be themed after Disney’s famous Haunted Mansion attractions. Who doesn’t want to slide up to a bar and see the Hitchhiking Ghosts there ready to follow you back to your cabin?

©Disney

The idea behind the bar is that a captain who had a “disastrous dinner with his beloved fiance” is your Ghost Host at the new digs. Yep, it sounds like he made the mistake of falling for Constance Hatchaway, the Haunted Mansion’s serial killing bride. Oops.

 HEIHEI CAFÉ

Start your day at Heihei Café! Or grab an afternoon pick-me-up of coffee or tea at this spot located near the Grand Hall.

©Disney

Moana’s sidekick, Heihei, serves as the inspiration as well as the namesake for the spot, and the space will reflect “the scalloped seashells and reflective blue waters of the storied Southern Pacific Isle of Motunui ” from Moana.

JADE CRICKET CAFÉ

Jade Cricket Café pays homage to the Fa Family’s “lucky” cricket, Cri-Kee in Mulan!

Mushu Wall Art

A jade sculpture on the bar top will offer a tribute to the character, while the central moon gate and plum blossom flowers on the walls will symbolize Mulan’s strength, beauty, and heritage. And here’s a hint: the “glimmering metallic counters” are meant to evoke Mulan’s armor!

KID AREAS

Kiddos will be able to enjoy the reimagined Disney’s Oceaneers Club, with three different themed areas to play in, specifically geared for kids ages 3 to 10.

MARVEL SUPERHERO ACADEMY

First, there’s the Marvel Super Hero Academy, where youngsters train to be the next generation of superheroes by learning the ropes from friends like Spider-Man, Black Panther, Ant-Man, and the Wasp.

©Disney

FAIRYTALE HALL

Another experience is over in Fairytale Hall — a group of activity rooms themed to honor some iconic Disney ladies (who may just happen to stop by…) — Rapunzel’s Art Studio (for arts & crafts), Belle’s Library (with the chance to read and act out stories), and more.

©Disney

STAR WARS: CARGO BAY

In Star Wars: Cargo Bay, kids take on the role of creature handlers and help “take care” of Star Wars creatures (think porgs, Loth-cats, and worrts… OH, MY!)!

©Disney

WALT DISNEY IMAGINEERING LAB

The Oceaneer Club will also contain the Walt Disney Imagineering Lab, where kids “discover the secrets of world-renowned Disney Imagineers” through hands-on activities and experiments.

©Disney

EDGE & VIBE

Teens (ages 14 to 17) and tweens (ages 11 to 14) have their own dedicated clubs.

©Disney

The contemporary Vibe is the hangout for teenagers, and the New York City loft-inspired Edge is for tweens.

IT’S A SMALL WORLD NURSERY

It’s a Small World Nursery that offers babysitting services under the care of Disney-trained counselors for the ship’s very smallest sailors.

©Disney

Inspired by “The Happiest Cruise That Ever Sailed,” games, crafts, movies, books, and even visits from Disney friends are part of the activities.

ADULT AREAS

PALO STEAKHOUSE

Disney Cruise Line’s popular Palo Steakhouse will also find its home on the Treasure. It will present its lovely signature combination of “authentic Italian dining with the classic refinement of a modern steakhouse,” but on the Treasure, as with the Wish, the setting will draw inspiration from Cogsworth.

©Disney

ENCHANTÉ

Two exclusive experiences that made their debut on the Disney Wish will be found aboard the Treasure, as well! Enchanté (featuring a menu by three-Michelin-starred Chef Arnaud Lallement) will offer the most luxurious dining experience on the ship in a romantic, intimate setting. The beloved Candelabra, Lumiere, serves as the inspiration for the space.

©Disney

THE ROSE

The Rose is a lounge offering “an upscale suite of epicurean excellence” to enjoy a pre-dinner aperitif or after-dinner cocktail. It will be found outside the entrance to Palo Steakhouse and Enchanté. What other than the rose with falling petals reminds the Beast of his potential fate to serve as the inspiration for this space?

©Disney

QUIET COVE

Adults can enjoy the secluded Quiet Cove aboard the Treasure, which is “dedicated to lounging, sipping and soaking.” This adults-only area will feature an infinity pool, poolside bar, and cafe.

©Disney

SENSES SPA

This relaxing oasis will offer extra pampering in the form of spa and beauty treatments. The space will feature private treatment rooms and spa villas, as well as steam and aromatherapy rooms.

©Disney

And the reimagined Senses Fitness will be complete with state-of-the-art exercise equipment.

Two more pampering places are making their way from the Disney Wish. For men, Hook’s Barbery is a twist on a traditional European men’s salon, inspired by its namesake, Captain Cook. Services include cuts, shaves, nail care, and skincare, and the spot also features a hidden bar.

©Disney

And the Untangled Salon is inspired by the film Tangled. This standalone salon offers haircuts and styling, manicures and pedicures, teeth whitening, and skin treatments.

ENTERTAINMENT

WALT DISNEY THEATRE

On every Disney Cruise Line ship, the Walt Disney Theatre is home to original Broadway-style shows developed exclusively for Disney Cruise Line.

©Disney

DISNEY THE TALE OF MOANA

Disney The Tale of Moana is a brand-new Broadway-style production, and when it debuts, it will be the first time that Disney has brought the story of Moana to the stage. Disney says, “The show will follow Moana as she embarks on an incredible journey to save her island after she is chosen by the ocean to restore the heart of Te Fiti.”

©Disney

BEAUTY AND THE BEAST

Beauty and the Beast, of course, brings Belle’s story to life with elements from both the live-action film and the classic animated feature.

©Disney

DISNEY SEAS THE ADVENTURE

Disney Seas the Adventure is an original musical production starring dear Disney and Pixar pals and featuring unforgettable Disney songs!

©Disney

GRAND HALL

New entertainment, including shows, character encounters, and even musical performances, will be featured throughout the voyage in the Grand Hall.

©Disney

SARABI

Sarabi will serve as a central hub for both daytime activities and adult-exclusive entertainment in the evenings. Its namesake is where the lioness matriarch from Disney’s “The Lion King” dwelled, and the two-story space itself will “will evoke the natural beauty and openness of the savanna.”

©Disney

Guests can look forward to Cruise Line favorites like “Match Your Mate” and “Family Time Game Show,” and “Villains Game Night” (as seen on the Disney Wish).

HERO ZONE

The Hero Zone, which made its debut on the Disney Wish, is a sports and recreation venue custom-made for active family time, complete with physical challenges and game show-style competitions!

©Disney

WONDERLAND AND NEVERLAND CINEMAS

Another Disney Cruise Line staple is the rare opportunity for passengers to catch first-run films from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Lucasfilm, and more.

©Disney

DECK PARTIES

Of course, what’s a Disney Cruise without a PIRATE NIGHT?? Pirate’s Rockin’ Parlay Party can be seen on the upper deck one night of the voyage, so get ready to gear up and party like a PIRATE!

©Disney

POOLS, SLIDES, AND SPLASH ZONES

The Treasure has the AquaMouse water coaster, too. It’s more than just a water slide; it’s a full-blown water attraction! AquaMouse will take you into the world of Mickey Mouse shorts, complete with show scenes, lighting, and special effects.

©Disney

While the Wish’s AquaMouse is themed with a story around called “Scuba Scramble,” the Treasure will have its own unique animated story. “Curse of the Golden Egg” will introduce an all-new storyline to its existing lineup that follows Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse on a zany misadventure into an ancient temple.

©Disney

This wild water ride will take you 760 feet around the upper deck!

The Disney Treasure will also be home to a Toy Story splash zone — the place for your kids to play and cool off at the same time!

©Disney

Along with the AquaMouse, the upper decks of the Disney Treasure will be comprised of three distinct districts. These will feature more water activities (including SEVEN POOLS, quick and casual dining options, and lots of places to simply relax).

ITINERARIES

The Disney Treasure’s maiden voyage will take place on December 21st, 2024. Starting on December 21st, the Treasure will sail to the Eastern and Western Caribbean.

©Disney

Currently, only seven-night cruises are available, and only to the Caribbean. However, Disney could always add more itineraries and destinations to the mix once the Treasure has a few more voyages under her belt!

Castaway Cay

Seven days aboard the Disney Treasure seems like the perfect amount of time to experience all the entertainment options aboard the ship while still enjoying Castaway Cay once the ship docks in the Caribbean.

Castaway Cay

Bookings opened for this ship on September 20th, 2023.

INTERESTING FACTS

  • The Maiden Voyage of The Disney Treasure will be a seven-night Eastern Caribbean cruise from Port Canaveral, Florida, leaving on December 21, 2024.
  • Imagineers and Cast Members celebrated the keel-laying ceremony for the Disney Treasure at Meyer Werft Shipyard in Papenburg, Germany. This ceremony involves placing a newly minted coin under the keel of the ship, a maritime tradition thought to bring good fortune. The coin featured an etching of Captain Minnie Mouse “donning a new look that embodies the ship’s adventure motif.”
  • The Disney Treasure is 1,119 feet long (that’s a little over THREE football fields), and comes in at a whopping 144,000 gross tons. It can carry 4,000 passengers, and 1,555 Crew Members.
  • The Disney Treasure will be the first ship in the fleet to have its own Signature song! The Disney Treasure’s song is “Live the Adventure” (VERY appropriate name), and it’s sung by award-winning singer and songwriter Jordin Sparks. Disney believes that the new song “sets the tone for a bold new era of Disney Cruise Line vacations.”
