A Disney Wedding

On the first day of spring, my wife Vickie and I were honored to be invited to a wedding at Disney World. We arrived at the Wedding Pavilion near the Grand Floridian Resort before 5 p.m. At one point before the ceremony, some of the guests stood and looked left through the windows of the pavilion and spotted the Cinderella Carriage approaching! You can see Cinderella Castle through the rear window of the pavilion.

After the wedding ceremony, the bride and groom were spirited away in the Cinderella Carriage.

Mickey Mouse came to the wedding reception, too! He danced and posed for photos with the celebrants. In this photo, Susie the bride smiles with her mother Rita, Mickey, and her sister Sheri.

Mickey and Friends

I checked out the classic Hidden Mickey inside the rear of the Wedding Pavilion, on the grate or vent (actually, it’s repeated on three grates) near the ceiling. It’s still there!

My friends and neighbors look for Hidden Mickeys, too! Several folks (Marc, Bob and Rita, Cheryl, Richard, and Jim) spotted a classic Mickey on the right rear hip of the horse at the right front of the Cinderella Carriage horse train.

Now that’s a cool Hidden Mickey!

Steve Barrett is a doctor and Disney nut whose favorite Walt Disney World memory is strolling through the Magic Kingdom with his young son on his shoulders. Not surprisingly, his favorite spot in the World is anywhere there's a Hidden Mickey. He suggests that all visitors take some time to chat with cast members, especially when looking for Hidden Mickeys, as they can enrich your Disney experience and make it even more magical.

  2. Hi Steve,

I was on the Disney wedding site a few days ago… just fooling around…dreaming of someday. I was confused about the 10-12 thousand dollar fee. Is that fee was separate or an addition to the other costs i e… flowers, DJ…

    Thanks,

  6. Hi Steve
We stay at Fort Wilderness Cabins when we visit WDW and we always visit in january so most of the horses have their winter coats. We always visit the horses in the stables and always go on a trail ride. We have seen these cool Hidden Mickeys on the horses rumps many times at that time of year. It is obviously easier to cut them into the horses coats in Winter as their hair is woolier. Thanks for the photos and blog, I think that a wedding at the Grand Floridian would be the most magical way to start the rest of your life as a married couple. SOOOOO ROMANTIC.
