Well I’ve been here less than 24 hours and things are already happening.
A few of us, including Fred Block (MagicMeets), Louis Mongello (DisneyWorldTrivia), Mike Newell (WDWToday) , and myself have already started getting the main ballroom ready for Saturday’s MagicMeets event.
I know you’re thinking, “Mike, how about some pictures?”
We really want to “Wow” everyone when they first come into the ballroom so we are being careful about showing too much too soon. (Ah – I see Deb has included one of me from last year — see below)
I can tell you that those who will be here will be amazed at the level of professionalism that Fred Block and his staff have achieved in putting on this event,
The ballroom is absolutely huge…15,000 sq. ft.
There is plenty of room for everyone.
There are colorful posters up on the walls, as well as all through the hotel complex.
Yesterday we were in the ballroom most of the afternoon and evening…I think I got to sleep about 1:30 A.M. this morning.
We spent yesterday setting up the PA system, which is awesome this year, and making sure all the audio/visual stuff is working.
We need to do some more testing today.
We are definitely ahead of last year and should not have to stay up until 2 A.M. doing last minute stuff.
A lot of my stuff is done so I should be able to help Deb and Linda set up and also the MEI/Mousefan Travel folks….yes Beci is here…she arrived at 12:04 A.M.
I’m hoping to do a dry run of my talk today with a small audience…we’ll see.
Yesterday was truly a Mousefesterly atmosphere as seeing everyone really got me pumped.
Yesterday Carol and I left New Hampshire at 5:00 A.M. and drove 445 miles to Harrisburgh.
We kept going strong all day and it you would think we’d be tired today.
Nope…I was up at 5:30…put on my running gear…and did a few miles around the hotel….I came back and found Carol in the gym….we’re animals.
MagicMeets, like Mousefest, will do that to you.
It’s a weekend long adrenalin rush.
More later today.
Oh….on a personal note…my heartfelt thanks to the many, many emails, text messages, private messages, and phone calls wishing me a happy birthday yesterday.
