REVIEW: This NEW Starbucks Drink Is… Neon Blue!?!

Here at AllEars, there’s nothing we love more than walking down Main Street, U.S.A. in Magic Kingdom with a Starbucks cup in hand!

So when we saw that Starbucks released a brand-new blue coconut refresher for its limited-time summer menu, we had to try it!

We tried the Blue Coconut Lemonade Refresher in a Grande size for $6.45. This drink combines toasted coconut, strawberry, and açaí flavors, hand-shaken with ice and blue spirulina. It can be customized with lemonade or coconut milk.

This drink is made with a Strawberry Acai base; the strawberry was the most prominent flavor, and there was a lot of tart lemonade with each sip. It tasted almost exactly like a Strawberry Acai Lemonade! There was a hint of an earthy flavor from the blue spirulina powder, and we couldn’t taste the coconut flavor at all.

If you’re a Strawberry Acai Refresher fan, it’s a fun twist on a classic; if not, you probably won’t like this. This also wouldn’t be a good choice if you’re a sipper, because the blue spirulina powder separated after an hour or so, which left a strange, powdery texture in the drink.

If you want to try it yourself, you can get it at Disney World in any of the four Starbucks locations:

• Creature Comforts in Animal Kingdom
