If you’re also mourning Muppet*Vision 3D like we are, you’re going to need to sit down for this one. Muppet*Vision 3D will be streaming on Apple Vision Pro!
Muppet*Vision 3D permanently closed on June 7th, 2025. Back then, Disney stated there were discussions and “creative conversations and exploring ways to preserve the film and other parts of the experience for fans to enjoy in the future.” Now’s the time!
There was some backlash over Muppet*Vision 3D’s closing, since it was the last project of late Muppets creator Jim Henson. His son, Brian Henson, has confirmed that Muppet*Vision 3D was filmed in full and is expected to live on through VR headsets and Apple Vision Pro, according to Apple Insider.
This could even mean that Muppet*Vision 3D might end up on Disney+ soon. Disney+ and Apple Vision Pro partnered in 2024 to bring some of their iconic films to 3D using Apple Vision Pro’s virtual reality headsets. They already have the 3D technology ready to go, so we’re crossing our fingers!
The Muppets have recently had a massive resurgence in pop culture. Last month, a special of The Muppet Show aired on ABC and Disney+, which starred Girl Meets World actress and Grammy-winning pop star Sabrina Carpenter. It featured Emmy-winning actress Maya Rudolph of Bridesmaids and Saturday Night Live. The special was executive-produced by Seth Rogen of the Kung Fu Panda series and Amazon Prime Video’s The Boys franchise.
According to the House of Mouse, the special delivered 7.58 million viewers across ABC and Disney+ through eight days of its release. The Muppet Show special has also earned critical acclaim with a near perfect 98% Tomatometer Score on Rotten Tomatoes.
The Muppet Show was a hit, and we’re expecting more Muppets content on Disney+ to follow in its footsteps. While we don’t have a release date for Muppet*Vision 3D yet, stay tuned to AllEars for more Muppets news!
