It Just Got EASIER to Buy One of the Best Desserts in Disney World

Something new opened at Disney Springs, and we’re taking you along with us to check it out.

Say hello to the Vivoli il Gelato Affogato Cart! This is part of the Vivoli il Gelato store, where we’ve been known for picking up some incredible coffee and gelato, and with this cart located right by the World of Disney store and Ghirardelli, we can get even MORE fun treats.

We were able to attend the ribbon-cutting ceremony, and then we had a chance to try some affogato. Affogato is an Italian dessert where you pour hot espresso over ice cream or gelato to create the perfect treat. While you can still order at the brick-and-mortar store, it’s nice to be able to grab one while in a different area of Disney Springs.

The cart is open from 10 AM to 11 PM, and check out all the menu options:

  • Cookies and Cream with Hot Chocolate — $11
  • Seasonal Affogato — $11
  • 2 Scoop Cup of Gelato — $9.95

  • Biscotti — $4.25
  • Espresso — $4
  • Water — $4.75

Watching them make affogato is so fun. They put the gelato on the sides of the cup and create a square shape where they can pour the espresso in the middle. We tried the Pistachio Affogato for $11, which is pistachio gelato served with hot espresso.

What a hit! It wasn’t too over-the-top pistachio, which they appreciate, but it provided a nutty, roasted flavor. That roasted flavor paired beautifully with the espresso, and it was fun to have the hot and the cold combination! When the gelato melts, it gets creamy and foamy, and it was such a unique treat.

We also tried the classic, Cream Custard Affogato for $10.50. The custard was so creamy and well, custardy. There were notes of vanilla and some caramel, but it wasn’t too sweet. If you’re not sure which flavor you want, the original is a choice to make.
