Why Disney Fans Are Already Saving for a 2028 Disney World Trip

As Disney fans, we’re always thinking about our next trip to Disney World — even if it’s years away.

Tropical Americas

To that point, we wanted to reach out to you and find out what you’re already looking ahead to — way ahead. Let’s just say, you did not disappoint. From entirely new lands to major park overhauls, us Disney fans have a lot to look forward to over the next few years — so much so that some are already saving for a trip in 2028.

We reached out to our followers on Facebook and Instagram to ask: “What Upcoming Disney World Changes Are You Most Excited About?” We had quite a few people leave their opinions in the comments!

What do you think?

Now, let’s take a look at some of your top responses and find out why the next few years of Disney World changes are making fans so excited — and so ready to start budgeting early.

Villains Land

First up, Grant is clearly excited about all the new attractions coming to Disney World — but especially Villains Land.

“I think Villains Land could be really great. But honestly, all of the attractions they have announced are very intriguing to me.”

This response pretty much sums up how a lot of Disney fans are feeling right now. After years of hoping, it looks like we’re finally getting the dark, dramatic, and slightly wicked land so many have dreamed about. Imagine stepping into a world ruled by Maleficent, Ursula, and Hades — complete with eerie soundtracks, jaw-dropping effects, and maybe even a few surprise appearances from your favorite villains. This one’s been a fan request for years, and we can’t wait to see how Disney pulls it off.

Steve might not be personally hyped for Villains Land, but even he admits it’s a huge deal:

“Villains Land. Not really my thing, but of everything going on, that’s the one people have been asking for. Like- forever.”

He’s right — this is one of those ideas that’s been floating around the Disney fandom for decades. It’s almost surreal to see it finally becoming real.

Zootopia at AK, and the new nighttime parade at MK.

Paula has her plans set and her excitement list is long.

“For our next scheduled trip in December…the Zootopia experience at AK, and the new nighttime parade at MK. Overall I’m excited about the Encanto stuff at AK. I’m intrigued to see what they do with Cars in Frontierland. I have a little boy who is obsessed with Cars.”

There’s so much to unpack here! Between the Zootopia and Encanto additions at Animal Kingdom, the brand new nighttime parade at Magic Kingdom, and the Cars-themed project in Frontierland, there’s something for everyone.

Paula’s clearly planning ahead, and honestly, we don’t blame her. With all of this coming over the next few years, a 2028 trip sounds perfectly timed.

Cars Land in WDW

Starla shared her own Cars Land memories — and her excitement for the new one.

“We got to be at Disneyland for opening day for Cars Land. Never enjoyed crowds of people so much. It was a blast. It’s a very fun land. So imagine the WDW one will be great too.”

Piston Peak

It’s always fun hearing from fans who experienced the original Cars Land magic firsthand. That land completely changed the game for immersive storytelling in the parks. If Disney brings even a fraction of that energy to Disney World, it’s going to be a must-see destination for fans and first-timers alike.

Monsters, Inc.

Sarah had just six words to say, but they pack a punch:

“Monsters Inc ride looks like it will be amazing!”

Pixar fans, rejoice! The world of Monstropolis will finally be getting the love it deserves in the parks. Whether it’s a dark ride through the door vault or a laugh-powered adventure, this one has the potential to become a new fan favorite.

Rock n Rollercoaster

Jim shared his excitement for a fan-favorite ride’s new chapter:

“Rock n Rollercoaster! Love the muppets!”

It’s safe to say the Muppets have some very loyal fans. This re-theme has the potential to be something wildly fun and totally chaotic, in the best possible way. Imagine the zany energy of the Muppet Show combined with the thrill of a looping coaster. Sign us up.

2028

And finally, Tina summed it all up perfectly:

“I’m looking forward to all the green walls coming down and the new stuff being ready to go, that’s why we are saving for a trip in 2028, yes it’s a while off but Disney ain’t cheap ?”

We’re SHOCKED

After years of construction and teasing, Disney World is about to enter a brand-new era — and fans like Tina are planning their dream trips around it. By 2028, we’ll (hopefully) have Villains Land, Cars Land, Encanto and Zootopia areas, new shows, and that long-awaited nighttime parade all open and ready to enjoy. Sounds like the perfect time to go all in on a big Disney trip, doesn’t it?

  1. Construction seems to always be ongoing at WDW. I imagine when all the walls come down EPCOT will have her walls back up to make future world the way it was supposed to be (as imagined in 2019).
