The best time of the year is drawing near!

Universal‘s Halloween Horror Nights kicks off on August 29th, 2025. Each day, we get closer to the start of the scary season, and I keep thinking about everything you shouldn’t miss in 2025! That’s why I’m sharing it all here so we’re ready to hit the ground running on night one.
When it comes to all things scary, Halloween Horror Nights is the place to be! This annual, special ticketed event takes place in Universal Studios on select nights from August 29th until November 2nd, and it isn’t for the faint of heart. This event offers tons of frights, scares, and fears for those who dare to try it!

When it comes to things you can’t miss, this is a topic I could talk about for hours (if not days). So we’re going to dive into 6 things I think you can’t miss at the 2025 Hakkoween Horror Nights.
It’s The Best Event of the Year
Starting off strong… don’t miss this event altogether! This is truly the best event in Orlando in my eyes and I know in 2025 it will be no different.

This will be the longest Halloween Horror Nights yet, which can only mean good things! Each year, you can choose between four different ticket types. First, you can snag the Halloween Horror Nights Single-Night Ticket! This ticket allows you to select one night to attend the event and all it has to offer. These start at $82.99 per person. Next, you can purchase the Halloween Horror Nights Express Pass. This is an add-on to the single-night ticket that allows you to skip the regular lines once at all of the haunted houses and other participating rides and attractions. Prices start at $139.99 in addition to your ticket.

The Halloween Horror Nights R.I.P. Tour comes with a guided walking tour of the event so that you can get a more intimate look at the event, and it can be a super unique experience! It is pricey, though — starting at $369.99. You will need to purchase your single-night ticket to utilize this add-on. If you’re a little too frightened to attend at night or just need a fix to tide you over until the sun goes down, Universal is also bringing back the Unmasking the Horrors daytime tours. This experience is a daytime VIP tour for an exclusive, lights-on look at this year’s haunted houses. You’ll have a choice between 3 or 6 haunted houses to tour, depending on which tour you book, along with privileges for exclusive photo access, a commemorative pin, and a stop for lunch. Separate theme park admission isn’t required for this experience unless you’d like to enter the park before or after your tour, and prices for these tours start at $99.99 for a three-house tour and $179.99 for a six-house tour.

It’s also great to know that Universal is bringing back two other exclusive event options! HHN’s Premium Scream Night will return this year for one night only on August 28th, and it’ll cost $375 per person. It features low crowds, all you care to enjoy select food and beverages from the event, and complimentary self-parking at Universal Orlando’s parking garages.

With all of these tickets and add-ons, there are tons of ways to enjoy this year’s after-hours event! It means endless hours of scares, snacks, and entertainment for the entire spooky season.

The New Intellectual Property
Next up, you can’t miss the amazing new houses! There are tons of amazing IPs coming this year, including Jason Universe, Five Nights at Freddy’s, Fallout, and Terrifier!

At the time of writing, not every house has been announced. Online, people are really, really excited for Terrifier, but I’m personally itching for Jason Universe! I’m also really looking forward to hearing more about the original Haunted Houses Universal is creating. For Grave of Flesh, the most recent house that was announced, Universal shared, “Welcome to your funeral, where it’s about to go from bad to worse. You’ll enter the underworld and be hunted by flesh-eaters for eternity.”

You can also expect to see houses like Dolls: Let’s Play Dead, Hatchet and Chains: Demon Bounty Hunters, and El Artista: A Spanish Haunting.

The Lagoon Show Is Back
I am TOO excited about one entertainment offering that’s returning in 2025 for the first time in years! Universal Orlando finally confirmed that a lagoon show is returning to this year’s festivities! This year it’s called Haunt-O-Phonic: A Ghoulish Journey, and it’s described as “A ghost story is rising from its watery grave to haunt the Universal Studios lagoon, featuring towering water screens and eerie music.”

In the past, the lagoon show has been one of my favorite parts of Halloween Horror Nights, and I’m really hoping this year will be no different! I know I’m not the only one excited to see this news; tons of people online are also echoing the same sentiments! There’s just something so exciting about extra entertainment, especially since we have more nights to enjoy the festivities this year.

Nightmare Fuel
If you’ve ever heard me talk about HHN, you’ve heard me talk about Nightmare Fuel! Nightmare Fuel Revenge Dream has been around for the past few years. For the past two years, Halloween Horror Nights has been set ablaze by a fiery spectacle, showcasing nocturnal creatures, aerialists of the night, and bone-chilling fire performers. The performers are accompanied by heart-pounding rock, metal, and electronica music.

This show blows me away every single time! The performers are at the top of their game every year, and it is a true spectacle each time. A lot of people consider skipping this entertainment offering, but I’m telling you, it is a must-see!

New Streetmosphere!
This year, there’s also going to be new entertainment in 2025! Universal teased two new attractions on posters, saying that “brave all-new street experiences that take the horror to new heights — featuring zombie carhops, undead DJs and more. Details coming soon.”

The first is called Mel’s Die-In Zombies, so we’re assuming it’ll be taking place right around Mel’s Drive-In. We can’t wait to see how the zombies are going to interact with guests! The second new addition is called Club Horror, and it’s unclear exactly where it’ll be. Based on the concept art, it looks like it’ll involve dancers with spooky masks, and of course, lots of blood.

Personally, I can’t wait to see how both of these bring the park even more to life, in addition to the scare zones.

Cat Lady Scare Zone
Finally, the Cat Lady Scare Zone is something I personally cannot miss. I’m a self-proclaimed cat lady thanks to my lovely son Hemingway. In 2025, one of the new scare zones is The Cat Lady of Crooked Lane!

In this new scare zone, you’ll travel down a spooky winding path to a mysterious home, where trick-or-treaters are transformed into feral felines. You’ll want to be extra careful — you could be next! There are so many amazing scare zones, but this one is calling to me personally. Do you think I can bring Hemingway with me? He does fit well in my backpack.

There are so many amazing things that keep me coming back to Halloween Horror Nights year after year, but these 6 things you absolutely cannot miss! I’ll be there the moment the gates open, and you will find me there every night the houses are open. As always, be sure to keep following AllEars for more Halloween Horror Nights tips and tricks!
