INCREDIBLE News for Fans of Disney Trash Cans

There is a lot going on in Disneyland right now!

The 70th anniversary is going on, bringing with it new attractions, foods, and more! Lots of exciting things bring lots of crowds, and lots of crowds bring lots of trash. Disneyland has added a new system for this trash, and let’s just say, it’s a bit complicated.

Over by the Hungry Bear Barbecue Jamboree, there have been some changes! No, it isn’t with the food! It’s with their trash cans! As you’re grabbing your food from this quick service in Critter Country, you might notice a new green scrapping system.

The new step up encourages you to eat your food (deal), sort your leftovers (we can do that), and scrap it in the appropriate bin. Okay, that’s not too bad! You can grab one of the little green trays for sorting, and then you’ll head to the new trash can!

The food only trash can specifies fruit, desserts, meat, and food scraps, so just no trays, bowls, plates, or cutlery. (You know, keeping it food only.) To the left of the food-only trash can, you see the scoop return! The scoop is to help you sort the food without needing to touch anything, and then you can return the scoop to the appropriate spot. You can see us returning ours below!

This new design is intended to encourage composting and reduce waste throughout the parks, and we’re eager to see if this change will extend to the other dining options around the park. This will be an adjustment if you’ve been going to the park for a while, especially if you’re rushing to the next activity on your list.

Be careful not to throw the food scoop away! Make sure it goes in the correct bin. This is just a little change that could make a big difference when it comes to dining in Disney! As always, be sure to keep following AllEars for Disney news and updates.
