I’ve spent many, many, MANY days in Disney World.

It’s my job (literally!) to go to the parks and report on the news, film videos for YouTube, and get content for our social media channels. Recently, as part of this job, I was challenged to spend a day in Disney World planned by a Disney HATER. Yep, I let a Disney World hater plan my visit to the parks, and it was a wild time.
Ahead of our visit, the Disney World hater in question gave us a list of tasks to complete in the parks, and boy, were some of them challenging. But honestly? I still managed to have a lot of fun along the way!

We started our day in EPCOT, which is the hater’s least favorite park. Our first task was to head to the gift shops and purchase the most “obnoxious” piece of headgear we could find. And naturally, I settled on one of those gigantic Goofy hats.

After that, we were told to ride Spaceship Earth and “act like you’re genuinely interested.” And we take offense to that! No Spaceship Earth hate allowed here at AllEars. We even thanked the Phoenicians!

From there, we were told to go do the “rat ride,” AKA Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure. This one can definitely be a little nausea-inducing, so we totally get why some people don’t like it. Really, the worst part of this ride can be waiting in line for it!

But by far the most challenging thing on our to-do list for EPCOT was to eat or drink “around the world” for a budget of $45 per person. And when I tell you that this was a CHALLENGE…I mean we ended up eating a lot of pre-packaged snacks and candy. We were feeling a little sick by the end!

After that, it was time to head over to Magic Kingdom (thank goodness, we were READY to escape the World Showcase after all those snacks!) and take a picture in front of Cinderella Castle. Our Disney World hater described this as the “agony of my life” because seemingly everyone has to take a picture there.

From there, the hater told us to ride the “small life” ride, and assuming he meant “it’s a small world,” we took a boat tour around the world. I love the attraction as much as the next guy, but I will admit that the song can be a bit of an earworm.

But next on the list was an attraction that the hater actually enjoys…Carousel of Progress! He called it the “Wheel of Time” (we’re not sure where these names come from 😅), and I think this is one point where we totally agree! To me, the Carousel of Progress is an absolute masterpiece of Disney history and production.

We ended the day on Space Mountain, where we were challenged to look serious the whole time. It’s a lot harder than you think!

So that wrapped up an admittedly weird day in Disney World. By far, the hardest thing was snacking around the World Showcase on such a tight budget, and I certainly wouldn’t recommend attempting that unless you’re prepared to eat a TON of sugary packaged snacks.

But despite the difficult food challenge, we still had a pretty great day in Disney World! If you want to check out the full video, watch below.

Have you ever been to Disney World with a Disney hater? Tell us in the comments!
The Disney Hater seems to know a lot about the parks! How do you know this person anyway? If I met someone who was a Disney Hater, they would not be in my friendship group.
Years ago we picked our son up from a new friend’s house. It was a lovely day so we accepted refreshments in the garden and had a lovely chat. Then my husband asked if they’d ever been to WDW. They said, “No. Luckily we’ve managed to get out of that so far.”
We soon left as we knew that these were not going to be our sort of people.
