There are some guests you only meet once… and others you never forget.

Working at Disney World means crossing paths with so many people—but sometimes, someone leaves an impression that sticks with you long after their vacation is over. Former Cast Members recently shared some of the guests who made their days a little brighter, and the stories are the kind of wholesome we all need right now. If you’ve ever wondered what kinds of guests Cast Members remember forever—this is it.
The Rope Drop Regular Who Became a Familiar Face
Back when Rise of the Resistance first opened, rope drop wasn’t just early—it was an event. Guests had to be inside the park and scanned in by 7AM to get a boarding group, which meant everyone (Cast Members included) spent a lot of time hanging around before the park officially opened. And for one former CM, that early-morning wait turned into a pretty unforgettable connection.

Here’s how they described it:
“I met a guest when Rise had first opened, and we were standing outside for rope drop (at the time they let guests in ahead of the 7am drop cause you had to be scanned in to get it, and we would hang out for quite a bit of time before the park actually opened). I talked with this lovely lady for a while at rope drop, and afterwards, anytime she came back to Disney World, she would make it a point to say hi to me. She even found me over at Guardians of the Galaxy (when I met her, I was at Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster) and was so excited for me opening a new attraction! It always made me so happy to see her and I will probably always remember how kind she was to me!”

That’s what we call a core memory. In a place where everything moves fast, a familiar face showing up just to say hi? That hits different.
Mickey Hugs That Last Forever
There’s no sugarcoating it—some of the sweetest moments happen when the littlest guests meet the Big Cheese himself. One former CM shared a story that’s equal parts adorable and heart-melting:
“My favorite were the little ones!! The babies who used to hug Mickey foreverrrrr were so sweet and precious. Mickey didn’t let go first!”

It’s such a simple moment, but if you’ve ever witnessed it firsthand, you know it’s powerful. Mickey gets hugged a lot—but sometimes, it’s just the kind of hug that makes time slow down. And yes, it’s 100% okay if you’re tearing up just a little bit.
Guests from Around the World Bring Their Own Magic
Another kind of unforgettable guest? The ones who traveled a long, long way to get there. One former CM talked about how much they loved chatting with international guests:
“Other memorable guests were the ones from outside the US — it was always fun to chat with people from other places! People would talk about their experience getting here and always seemed happy to be in WDW.”

When someone tells you they’ve been dreaming about their Disney trip for years—and finally made it? That energy is contagious. Those are the conversations that remind Cast Members just how special their job really is.
The Common Thread in All These Stories
What ties these moments together isn’t just the magic of Disney—it’s the fact that real connections happened. Being a Cast Member can be tough. The hours are long, the crowds can be wild, and keeping the magic going nonstop takes serious effort. But it’s guests like these—the ones who show up with kindness, excitement, or just genuine human connection—that make it all worth it.

So next time you’re in the parks, take a second to say thank you, share a kind word, or maybe even remember the names of the Cast Members who help make your day a little more magical. You never know—you might just become that guest for someone.
