Come With Us to the FIRST EVER D23 Day at Disneyland!

This is a HUGE weekend for Disney.

D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event is happening this weekend, which is one of Disney’s BIGGEST events of the year. Not only is the event bringing exclusive merchandise and happenings to Anaheim Convention Center, but we’re also expecting Disney to make some big announcements about movies, parks, and more. The event is also bringing the first ever D23 Day to Disneyland, and we decided to check it out.

So what is D23 Day? It’s a kickoff party for D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event that is welcoming ticketed D23 fans to Disneyland and Disney California Adventure for a day full of new merchandise drops, special character appearances, a dance party, and more.

When we arrived at Disneyland, we were greeted by a complimentary Mickey ear hat marking the occasion. Yep, FREE Mickey ears! These will be available to everyone as long as supplies last.

Then we saw just how busy Disneyland is during D23 Day — there are a LOT of people here!

We were also given a map with more information about D23 Day…

…as well as details on everything we can see and do during the event.

There’s also a QR code you can scan for more information. We saw signs with the QR code on Main Street, U.S.A.

Create Your Own Headbands has also returned at The Mad Hatter on Main Street, U.S.A. and Bing Bong’s Sweet Stuff in California Adventure. We stopped by The Mad Hatter, but the line was currently capped because it was so long. Cast Members told us they expected to continue it later in the day. The line for the Tarzan collection at Disneyana was also capped.

You’ll also get to see some special characters throughout the day, including Goofy and Max from Goof Troop in Toontown — we stopped by to check, but a Cast Member told us they’d be meeting a little later today. Merlin from The Sword in the Stone will also be randomly appearing in Fantasyland.

There’s also a special cavalcade: the Disney Legends cavalcade. In case you missed it, 14 celebrities will become Disney Legends this year and this cavalcade is celebrating them!

The Disneyland marching band got things going for the cavalcade.

We also got to see some of the Legends in the cavalcade, including Disney animator Mark Henn…

…as well as the voice of Ariel, Jodi Benson, and more.

Other fun things happening include a dance party at Tomorrowland Terrace, a Disney Jr. Let’s Play! Party at California Adventure, a new Tarzan 25th anniversary merchandise collection, unique photo ops, and more.
