A NEW system just launched for skipping the line in Disney World!

Disney Genie+ is no more, and now Lightning Lane Multi Pass has taken over! To replace Individual Lightning Lanes, we now have Lightning Lane Single Pass. And one of the biggest differences for your vacation is that you can now plan in ADVANCE! We’ve tested out the new Lightning Lane system and answered a bunch of your questions, but now we’ve got a major tip to share.
Even though Disney Genie+ is gone, the FREE Disney Genie system still remains in the My Disney Experience app. The free Genie (without the plus sign at the end) allows you to enter your preferences for your day, and the app will populate recommendations for your schedule based on what you selected.
To get started with Genie, you’ll need to find the prompt on the home screen of your My Disney Experience app, or you can go to the “My Day” tab to begin your planning. Genie will prompt you to select the members of your party, then choose your interests for attractions and other categories.

And if you use Disney Genie to populate your preferences for the day, then you’ll be able to choose your top attractions and experiences. How does that affect your use of Lightning Lane Multi Pass? Well, if you select your preferred attractions, you’ll see them pinned to the top of your screen when you go to modify (and sometimes pinned to the top of your Tip Board as well), which makes modifying and selecting your next Lightning Lane that much easier.

Once you’ve set up the free Genie initially, there’s one important button that you need to know about — the “Edit Trip Preferences” on the My Day tab. As you hit your favorite rides throughout the day, you can edit your trip preferences to remove the attractions you’ve already done and add new ones to your list.

Keeping your trip preferences updated throughout the day will save you valuable seconds when booking your Lightning Lanes — those things go FAST, so having the advantage of your next ride pinned to the top of your screen can be huge.

We’ll make sure to keep you updated with any more Lightning Lane news throughout the week, so stay tuned to AllEars for all the updates. To learn more about the new system, make sure to check out some of our other articles!
