It's Official! A NEW Pixar Character Is Meeting at Disney's Hollywood Studios

It’s a seriously exciting time to be a Disney World fan!

The EPCOT Transformation is finally complete with the opening of CommuniCore Hall & Plaza along with a new Mickey & Friends meet and greet and we’re looking forward to seeing how the new space changes the park. But, EPCOT isn’t the only park that has recently seen an update — let’s check it out!

A new meet and greet is now at Disney’s Hollywood Studios! Joy from Inside Out is now hanging out over at Pixar Plaza in a new space. She was previously meeting at EPCOT inside the Imagination Pavilion, but she has found her new home over with the rest of the Pixar Pals you might find in this area.

The meet and greet has debuted just in time for the premiere of Inside Out 2 in theaters on June 14th. Right now, no official times for this meet and greet are listed on the My Disney Experience app, but we’ll be on the lookout and will let you know if that changes.

This isn’t the only new meet and greet at Disney World, either! The new Mickey & Friends meet and greet just debuted at EPCOT’s newly opened CommuniCore Hall as well.

You’ll get to meet Mickey and a couple of his pals in different areas with unique backgrounds behind them! We met Goofy and Minnie when we checked it out, but we’re told those characters will rotate. Mickey will always be there, though!

CommuniCore Hall is an indoor space described as the first “fully purpose-built structure in festival programming.” It will host many different experiences like cooking demonstrations, fine art galleries, kitchen and mixology demonstrations, and more.

CommuniCore Plaza is an outdoor space that will host all sorts of concerts, gardens, and shaded seating.

When you first step into CommuniCore Hall, you’ll be met with a large open space, lit up with different colored lights and highlighting each of the four areas of the park.

Over near the World Showcase area, you’ll also find an EPCOT mural, complete with the colors of each of the 4 sections, that you can take photos with!

And over at CommuniCore Plaza, you’ll find tons of open space to enjoy concerts and “¡Celebración Encanto!” that will take place each day! In the evenings, Latin Bands will be performing on this stage.

Also kicking off on June 10th at Disney World is The Lion King 30th Anniversary celebration at Disney’s Animal Kingdom! The celebration will include a meet-and-greet with Timon and Rafiki, an animation experience based on the film, new photo opportunities, and themed merch and food.
